There were some issues reported in the early days of components frying.
Ive a V8 UHD but it not used in anger really i never leave the thing in standby when not in use its unplugged.

Mine still seems to be alive atm, but it's due to get hotter here tomorrow than it did yesterday, so will keep an eye on it.

Could it just be the power adapter?
My Advice mate would be to buy a Viark Sat4k the design of the case on the V8 spells ventilation trouble in my view.
What ever you do though do NOT buy the Viark SAT the none 4k model, it has lost providers been a none 4k Box at the moment that is SKY IT but who knows what else it will loose in the future. Its not work buying particularly at that price.
At the moment the Viark SAT is also rebooting if you try to select a catchup program the sat4k is fine.
Yeah your right there mate, the originals are of very low quality.
@vegiuk if you have an old Dreambox PSU hanging around they work fine.
Ah ok fair enough - I guess it was just coincidence that they went off at the same time I was upgrading!

Since last update on my VIARK SAT not VIARK 4K model
SP2 virtually unwatchable, vod ok.
Still no Sky italia or will be in the future afaik, nor any new packages will be added to this stb as discontinued model from what I understand.
New catchup feature puts stb into reboot.
