What I find is that the name of a favourite bouquet will change, i.e., it will change the name of one favourite bouquet, e.g., the "UK Favs" name will change (but not the channels, which are still in the same order). BBC1 on channel 1 "Sky Showcase" on etc

Think it depends on how you backed up the channels?!

This works for me...
Backup the channel list by pressing usb, then yellow and upload channels.
Then do it again, but this time press sat 1113 and backup the channels again (this will create a smaller list).
Make note of USALS
Factory Reset
Update firmware
Factory Reset
Then restore the 1st list you created (bigger file) and the smaller one after.
Re-enter USALS

Smaller file seems to keep the fav bouquet name :-)
 
I only ever do
Usb
press epg113 and save
Then load back as usual.
Never had an issue with fav names etc

Also I factory reset before and after loading new sw.

Is this for the VIARK SAT 4K? My RCU doesn't have a button named "sat"

I haven't flashed the new fw yet , on the old settings certain sats the universal Lnb was not selectable , just 0000 or 1111, and other little bugs like Usals not highlighted after saving
 
Hi guys, I didn’t wanna install the new FW as everything seemed to be working ok & I do t really know what I’m doing! But some of the SS sports aren’t clearing when I checked b4.
I’ve just downloaded the new fw & put it into the usb, it’s a rar file, whereas the previous one I installed was a bin file. Do i just change V1.23.rar to V1.23.update.bin?
Apologies for being thick as!

No use winrar to unrar the file, the bin file is inside the rar.

Before flashing the file dont forget to backup your channel list.

If it's a rar file then you will need to unpack the file contained within it ..eg the bin file is with the rar file...use something like winrar to unpack or other similar software
