No you probably cannot login to router because router login details have been changed and only way to sort that is reset with button. Have you never had to reset a router before do you think those details are there for nothing. But its you choice.

What device are you using when trying to access the router?
 
its as simple as urie said above press button to reset router then use the details on the bottom of router to login once it is reset them details WILL WORK
 
Your laptop is address should be 192.168.18.xx , if the ip address on the router is correct .
This bit is from an old memory so hopefully someone will correct me if slightly wrong.
on laptop in search bar type in ‘cmd’ , and open command line editor
Type. Ipconfig and hit enter. , I think this tells u the ip address of laptop.
If you type in ipconfig /all And hit enter , this will give you the ip address of everything on your network .
The router will. Usually be the one with the .0 Or .1 at the end , type this address in and see if you can access router

The only issue is that you're router might not allow ping requests so you'd need to be able to login to your router to change that setting.

Also, if you take a picture of the thing your router is connected to we'd have a better chance of being able to tell you what your options are to replace it.

This is a great tool and something I've been using for years, easily shows line issues and latency, drops etc.

Currently when I was with vermin it was useful.

I live in Spain and the link above does not allow me to enter a non UK postcode
 
But now I have a new issue, my laptop now will not stay connected to my router using my password. It connects for approx 5 mins then disconnects and I have to re-enter my password, its as if my laptop cannot retain its memory of my password. I have tried system restore 3 times and each time it has failed to complete, I think my laptop has given up the strain lol ( a bit like me)
 
I am begining to think this is just ISP blocks because only happening when football is on.
 
As mentioned, if you reset the router the details on the bottom will then all be accessible and valid. You will need to connect to the router using a data cable plugged into it from your laptop. You can then change your default password and set the router back up. The main settings for your router and ISP should already be configured. Create a SSID and set a password on that and then you'll have your wireless up and running.

If you have trouble connecting via your laptop after a router reset then do the following.
Whatever your default router IP address is let's just say it was 192.168.0.1 then you may need to go into the network settings on your laptop and set a static IP address to 192.168.0.2
You may have to put a subnet in as 255.255.255.0
Once the router is configured then you can set your laptop IP address back to DHCP

Ok so what has ISP changed do you even have details can you now log into router , but wont matter all information given you have ignored.
 
I have not been able to log in to my router, so I will just get my isp to change my password and kick off my intruder who will not have my new password. Sadly I realise that despite all the good help from here I really do not like to change anything I have no understanding of what I am doing, I have a track record of changing things and then costing me money to put my error right. And I think this would be another thing I will muck up and have to seek help, so I am going to do that as its the easiest way to solve the issue. Its not that I am ungrateful for everybody's help its just that I do not understand what I am doing so its best not to do it.
 
I was at a friends recently and they have installed an eero 6 mesh system into their existing router, not sure if that would be a better option for me rather than purchasing a new router and getting my isp to link it as a bridge.
This is a little bit out of my comfort zone so any advise would be really appreciated
Since changing my router password and kicking off my intruder who had 5 devices connected to my system without my knowledge my internet has been a bit more stable but still not as good as it was.

Have a look at Deco’s, I’m not that I.T. clued up but iv’e used them for a couple of years and can’t fault them. I initially got them to use with VM but now with Vodaphone and they’re fairly easy to set up. I have 3 S4’s and decent BB in an older brick built house. My FS is hard wired to one of the units and my connection is pretty stable/solid.
