Sorry to hear that, @moshibeth.
Antidepressants usually take a couple of weeks to start having an effect, and sometimes up to eight weeks to fully kick in, so try to give them a bit of time. I really hope you start feeling better soon. And please make sure to reach out to friends or family if things get really tough—you don’t have to go through it alone.

It takes a lot of courage to speak up about this, especially here, so respect to you for that.

I know that feeling as can do is now cannot do and life is suffering , falling asleep in the chair watching YouTube and scrolling though forums and fall asleep .
In bed only getting a few hours of sleep so batteries on low as cannot unwind down. Simple jobs getting put on long finger and not getting done.
Cold weather coming might make it worse and already on boxes of smarties.

I do get to chat the odd times and not holding anything back and to anybody out there with issues as said a simple set of ears might all it takes to pull you through it and to live another day.

The stress of modern life does not care who gets hurt.

I came up to do something on my pc and fell asleep and will need a seatbelt fitted before i fall out.
Not sure i get the chance to be depressed as falling asleep takes its toll .
Sometimes chilling out is needed and a good movie is needed to get you to laugh.
Take one day at a time is all you can do M8

HT we been pals a long time,

I just thought this would be a good shared thread as i know others are in the same boat

Excuse the french but its horrible

You mean for the raffle? I'll eventually get round to listing something but will be in touch soon to get something organised. There's no rush but thanks for the contribution to the charity event.

Hey Moshi, sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down mate, think you must be missing the good old card sharing days when I know you helped loads of guys👍, Keep your chin up mate, you'll bounce back. We're all here for ya!

Sorry to hear about what your going through.

Mental health is something most out there still don't take seriously and just shrug it off like it's nothing.

I personally have been going through depression since I left school and all the crap that I encountered then but have been going through severe depression over last numbers of years and got worse since I lost someone really close to me forever.

For me the pills over the many years have never helped me. Mainly just made me feel more empty and dead inside. So stopped then altogether and talking to shrinks never helped me either.

I have followed many things that have been advised over the years but I'm in the same place and just truly hate existence and life every day. It's an absolute struggle getting out of bed but I have no choice. Until something happens to me then I'm forced to exist.

Everyone is different when it comes to mental health. I hope you overcome your troubles and can come out of it better than before. Good luck to you.

Christmas time can make things feel 100 times worse. Theres a lot of added pressure and also sadness of not having those who you want around, being there.
Try to look forward and set yourself some realistic goals to achieve. Such as being able to walk or run 5k in a matter of months. Find a new hobby and try and get something to focus on. Antidepressants can only do so much but it is up to you to want help yourself and continue that journey.
You've made an incredible first step by admitting there's a problem and asking for help, so be proud of that!
You will have ups and downs but on your lowest days, remember that feeling will pass and each day is a fresh start
We are all here for you and if you need to rant or give off my inbox is open mate

Don't know your physical situation but you should definitely start going for walks. 10 minute walk after every meal, lower your hours in front of screens/tech, get some blue light blocking glasses and use them before bed especially if you're looking at screens at night.

Level two would be to lift weights or play/practice a sport you might like. I play men's league baseball, golf as much as I can, coach a local kids baseball team, and lift weights. More screen time = more depression imo.

Level three, make sure you're eating right. Protein and a veggie for each meal for a while, try not to eat anything out of a package. Incorporate some of these things and hopefully you can ditch the meds, I don't think they're good for you (not a doctor!).

Hope you feel better sir!
