Motorised Dish suddenly not locking on channels

After recording the racing on 4.8 deg east today, i sent the dish to another sat, but i got no signal on any of them, the dish is moving as i can see it in the garden, i got wet when i went out an installed another LNB.
But it didn't help, checked all connections, which are ok, even tried the motor cable on my gigablue box, still the same, by the way my box is a vu + ultimo 4k, any ideas what has made this happen? been fine for a long time.

Nudge the dish a few clicks east or west after sending it to a sat to see if signal comes in.

If you have another receiver, try that to see if that get signal.

Thanks, i did get a signal when i moved it a bit. when i come out of that though it just keeps searching .

Do you have another room that is wired up and working or not , if working points to possible cable and if not might be alignment on dish issue.

I tried the motor cable in my other box, and it was the same, being as i got a signal when i nudged it a bit i presume my dish went out of allignment, never had that before, my dishes are in the garden so i will sort it tomorrow, i have a metre to do it, just a bit strange.

Its looking like alignment them, as a temp fix you could trim a bit off your usuals Longitude setting till signal locks on all positions.

So to do this if your longitude setting as a example was 1.2 try trim it to 1.0 save and see if you get signal when you move sats. If not add to it say 1.4

Play around till you get signal.

morning all, i have been messing with it today, needed a slight realignment on 0.8e thor to get a signal, so i thought that's fine it will work ok, but it won't lock onto a satellite beyond 4.8 d east, the dish will move to the satellite but fail to lockon to a signal, i have messed about with the longitude and latitude but no good, as this happened quite quick i'm thinking maybe the motor has gone, does that sound like the motor?

Still sound like alingment, send dish to 42e then 30w does the position of the dish look in the ballpark ? If so its not the motor.

Thanks, i did that and yes it does look where they should be, in that case it could be alignment, bit strange it happened sudenly, so my best bet is to set it up again?

If I knew the box and image I could maybe tell you how to send it to 0 using the remote and then you could look at motor or If I knew motor you can send it to 0 using buttons. And if you try to record a channel say on 28 east and only have the motor cable enabled that may right dish or you can watch as it moves to gauge how far past the sat it goes.

If you're 100% sure the usuals coordinates entered are correct, yes mate.

Send dish to 0.8w mate and peak the dish by first loosening the bolts holding the motor to the pole it's mounted on. Swivel the whole motor and dish assembly till you max out the signal strength. Then tighten the nuts back up in a diagonal sequence, making sure the signal remains maxed.

Then loosen the nuts holding the dish to the motor stub swivel the dish around the motor stub to max out the signal and tighten.

Then loosen the dish elevation nuts and move the dish up and down to max the signal and tighten.

Done, now check its now tracking the arc correctly.

I have been setting the dish up for the last few hours, followed Ferret's instructions to the letter, had a great signal but still not right, so i changed the LNB to try that, i had an inverto on it before this, that seemed to help, but still not locking on some sats, a bit more alignment and it worked, thanks for the advise, maybe having 3 dishes on 1 scaffold pole is not a great idea.

Dont forget to check them points with a spirit level

Still having problems with my motorised dish, i have started from scratch with a new motor, the other one was old so bought a new one, a TM-2300M3, set it all up today, i have set up a motorised dish many times with no problems, this time it's still the same as before, it's fine on 0.8 deg with great signal, same as always, i send it to 9.0 E and it's still fine, after that it's not finding the satellite, it shows it's searching but not finding the sat, not had this before, i plugged the motor cable into my gigablue box and it's the same, any ideas what's gone wrong?

Out of interest have you checked your pole and brackets and plumb?
