Sony Bravia tv downloading

I wanted to add an external hdd or ssd for downloading a few films to.
My mate says to go for an ssd as he uses a 4tb or 16tb cough cough??

Having logged on to Sony website it says to use a usb hdd for recordings but i will be downloading them instead

Not sure if i can or is better to download to a ssd instead?

If you download it, you can watch it whenever you like.
If you record it, you can watch it whenever you like.

The bot is advising you that it isn't possible to watch content on other devices, the TV uses its own encryption

Mechanical Hdd or a ssd doesn't really matter what type you get , what size of movies you planning on DL ., no need for 4t and I very much doubt he has a 16tb SSD.

A 1tb SSD probably cost you £100

He has an amazing setup all setup by himself as one of these people that grew up with great sound and video. 10foot projector in his garage and 2 subs coming in on pallet racks Concrete building sound proofed . When he plays a movie the room shakes and projector moves when those subs come into place. All he needs now are the smells.

He did say download 1080 movies is better and quicker than 4k.

I might have a spare 2tb externally powered hdd and unsure if that would work or needs a usb passport instead .

Am i limited to size for the tv to use?
