Zgemma h2s with full fibre

I have a zgemma h2s that has been working great for years, i am not currently on fibre but my ɓroadband contract is now up. I have the zgemma in my living room, but i think if i get fibre the box will go into a bedroom, i believe the zgemma works best when connected by cable, but I'll now not be able to do this. The box is working fine so dont want to change unless i haveto, has anyone been able to get around this
 
  • If you are using IPTV on the zgemma and it needs a network connection - you can buy a USB Wi-Fi adapter or run a long ethernet cable!
  • If you are only using free to air - the network connection is not required but you will need a coaxial cable from your dish to the new location.
If every other room can be served by Wi-fi then its best to have your modem/router installed near your TV/Zgemma. Also, in case a device in the future needs to be hard wired to the router/modem - it would be the easiest option IMO.
 
Thanks Prim@l yes I'm running iptv, the cable would need to be very long lol, never thought about through usb wifi adapter, wasn't sure if the quality would still be as good but would certainly give that a go. Ive currently got the router beside the tv/zgemma, but when it comes to fibre i think they'll opt for the easiest route to bring in the cable which will be the bedroom, but maybe worth a chat with the engineer before signing up
 
Instead of spending ~£50 on homeplugs or adapters, you could spend £40~ on an Android stick, which has its own WiFi adapter inbuilt and it will play your existing iptv channels in uhd/4k which the zgemma isn't capable of.
There's dcolor dg1 sticks for sale in this forum classifieds for £43 delivered, they're easier to set up than any box or firestick etc

Thanks thats the other option to get an alternative to play the iptv but if it was an easy fix thought I’d explore all the options to keep the box first
 
Hi I use a wifi repeater connected to router with wifi, then connect to Zgemma with Ethernet cable.

I have used both and because of number of available sockets.( both work ) I found the difference is you can plug the repeater into an extension cable socket, home plugs may not work on extension cable sockets as they use the home electric sockets, as the wiring in the walls to sockets is solid wire and not wound cable as in extension cable.

The home plugs I have do not have the electric plug pass through. so need electric socket for homeplug and on for zgemma.
 
Just a note I have also used the repeater to ethernet cable to satellite receiver to connect to mobile broadband signal at my caravan with success.

there are all types of homeplugs and you can get them with plug socket , I also have set that also has wifi extender.
But I don't use them now as I have moved to mesh system.
