Tanix T4 box (I think) having Wifi problems, anyone help?

Hi, got the above box which has been working just fine until the last couple of days.

It says it's connected to the wifi router but nothing actually streams when I try to open apps, Radioplayer, Stremio, Smarttube ("Unable to resolve host www.youtube.com) etc,

I turned my phone's portable hotspot on (it's connected to the same router), connect the Tanix box to that and everything works as expected.

Anyone know whats going on?

If im reading this correctly your can connect through your Phone ! Is this via mobile data ? If it is then the router does not like the Tanix for some reason.

Have you rebooted the router ? If its a ISP router have the nanny settings been turned off.
 
The box isn't connected to the WiFi 👍
This could be because the WiFi password has been changed and no one told the box, or it has somehow lost the details you originally put in.
Go to network settings on the box and check that the details are exactly the same as those in your phone, assuming your home WiFi works on the phone

the phone isnt using mobile data, it's connected to the wifi router.

I'm loathe to reboot the router as the last time I did it, it never came back up and we were without internet for three days!

Thursday isnt a good day to reboot our router with the supplier we've got!.

It seems like the most sensible option though.

Yeah, the password is the same as the password on the phone.

Have you tried removing the WiFi network from device and clearing the cache on the device and re-entered the Wi-Fi network details?

Not sure? On a Motorola it disconnects. :)

On my Samsung I can have mobile data and WiFi enabled at the same time, it chooses whichever is most stable.

You can reboot the router daily if you want to. If it didn't reconnect for 3 days, this was because your isp was down for 3 days

yeah, mine seems to keep the wifi running too.

the isp wasn't down, they simply didn't respond over the weekend then couldn't fix the problem over the phone on monday 🤷‍♂️

When resetting the router it needs to be unplugged or powered off for a minimum of five minutes.
Flicking the switch on the socket off then back on does nothing...if it wasn't connected to the isp before, it won't connect again. Powering it off for 5m resets it at their end because it takes that long for their system to recognise that you've disappeared and it then tries to find you again
