Hi I am trying to delete or disable (preferably delete) from chrome and stop it from downloading to my chrome browser but having difficultys
ive tried searching for answers but cant seem to STOP it it keeps showing up in chrome, does anyone have a cure for this problem ?
cheers

I am not a google chrome user - however, I gather that the offending file is called weights.bin so it might be worth looking for that as evidence of presence.
In the meantime, in Chrome's address box, enter the URL chrome://flags. In the resulting page, look for an entry named optimization-guide-on-device-model and set it to Disabled, then restart Chrome. The browser should then delete the weights.bin file on it's own.
It's been so many years since I used Windows, (assuming that you are on windows) but you should be able to set a Registry key; Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome, create a DWORD key called GenAILocalFoundationalModelSettings and set it to 1, then restart Chrome.

Also, there are some useful resources here - Just the Browser - Just the Browser

Ohh man, I hear you - - - this really is a game of whack-a-mole if there was one.
I have pretty much managed to de-google and de-microsoft, and de-apple my life now. Things are not perfect, far from it, and I am on occasion happy to use some AI tools if the occasion calls for it, but always on my own terms.
Having unsolicited AI foisted on me is an intrusion and degree of enshitification that I am not willing to accept, at least not without a fight.
