Satellite dish in Almeria, Spain.

I have a cabin in Spain (Almeria)and there is a 1.2 meter dish there (with no Lnb or cables). I have used VU+ boxes in the past
and understand how they work so im good from that point.
I have starlink for my internet and that works fine but I am looking for "Live sports" when there, and not 30-60 seconds
behind using streaming options that I have plenty of.
I can pick up a new LNB and cables and order a new box ( through links on here) but what I am asking is can a 1.2M dish
pick up any "English speaking" sports channels by pointing the dish at a new satellite as I understand 28.2 is no longer
available.
I know I should be happy with my streaming but the delay is worse then the cost to use a dish again.

I am looking at learning again as it was 2016 when I last used a satellite box so any help will be gratefully recieved.

Unless you are gambling why is the delay an issue?
Yesterday super sports albania was in front of canal + sports by a few secs and both were 'live'
Only a feed is 'live' as such so they are all behind, itv fta is often way behind some pay sports coverage of same event.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I have nothing else better to do if I’m being honest and this dish is just sitting there.
It’s just in my head, if I can point it at a different satellite and get the live (ish) football. I’m heading over to Spain end of September and just thought a new box,LNB and some cable and I have a new project.
Until I know it’s impossible then I suppose it’s going to be a question for me.

Aim it at 23.5e
Get a cs share or a viark stb.
There are 6-7 epl games per week with english audio on canal+ sport
Multiple other sports with and with out eng audio
Efl/cup games eng audio
Films series mostly have eng audio option.

16e digitalb has all epl most of the time but atm the eng audio has been removed.

19.2e sky.de has 6-8 sometimes all epl games with eng audio option

All these options req either cs/ forever server/ official sub.

Mate, my brother is in Almeria and has a 1.2m dish. If he goes for 23.5E, does he need a specific LNB or will a standard universal LNB be fine? Also, is the signal generally stable there?

Also, what box would you recommend for someone getting back into satellite after a few years? He used to have a VU+ box but hasn’t touched satellite stuff since around 2016.

Standard lnb

A 1.2m dish might not be enough as Almeria is outside the footprint, have a look on SATBEAMS
Sky De on 19.2e has Eng Comms, no bother getting that in Spain.

Thanks mate, I’ll have a look at SatBeams. So would you say I should be looking at something larger than a 1.2m dish for 23.5E in Almeria? If so, what size would you recommend to give me a decent margin in bad weather?

Sorry but I wouldn't know what size you'd need, manic 01 above says it "Works fine on 1.2".
Have a chat with the "OP" he has "a 1.2 meter dish there" - (when he gets it sorted).
You could always try a "multi Lnb setup" & have a 2nd LNB for 19.2e as a backup.

Good idea on the multi-LNB bracket, didn't think of that as an option. Makes sense to use 19.2E as a backup for audio options.

If they have an option of bigger dish. Then that's always going to be better ootion.
He's got a 1.2m dish setup there at the minute like the OP, but I've asked him and he can upgrade to a larger size if needed. Any particular dish size you'd recommend going for over there?

Brilliant, thanks for listing the schedule out. I'll get him to test 23.5E first on the 1.2m then. If the signal is solid, we'll leave it as is and set up 19.2E as well for those matches.
