Motorised Satellite for feeds

Thanks how do you take a photo with sat finder. Also what kind of external weather proof plug would i need to connect my dish to the receiver as i am thinking of using it sporadically so will need to plug in and out as needed - is that possible?

I am using iOS and have the Satellite Pointer app. Also have Sat Finder NG, but I think it may be paid. With the former, you open the app, and it will go into camera mode with a view of the arc.

Just make sure your phone is not near any metal, as that can affect the some of the sensors.

Have you decided what you are going to get? To use a patio mount is has to be 100% plumb and are you just aiming for 0.8west or want more? The ideal location looking at your pic would be the gable end but maybe you don't want dish visible.

To use sporadically would be a pain but all you need is to unplug the cable from the dish and store behind receiver unit. When needed roll it out and connect to dish end, its a screw in connector. We need a bit more info.

drox whats the exact name of satellite pointer, there are loads and most are in app purchases

Satelittle Pointer on iOS

Mainly to aim at 0.W and have it set up from October - May to capture the feeds i am interested in. Not sure how practable it would be to get and use flexibly, i kind of need a set up similar to what is used on a motorhome/caravan but for home use although as others have stated i would need a minimum 1m dish.

That satellite pointer is not available on ios at my location! and when I try android it says my software is too new. Looks a nifty gadget.

I’ve only ever searched for it in the UK App Store. There are many similar apps, just search for satellite or dish and it will be a case of trial and error.
