New Skybox F3 - Unable to access menu or change settings

I just received my new Skybox F3 receiver. When connected to my HDTV via HDMI, I get a message on the TV saying "This TV does not support the output format, video resolution and/or refresh rate being sent by the connected device....modify the settings in your connected device."

I tried connecting using RCA jacks and received the same message.

When the receiver is turned on, it scans through channels and ends on "NoChan" which is fine as the dish is not set up yet. But I cannot get anything to display onscreen at all. None of the keys on the remote or the receiver itself do anything except for the TV/STB button which when pressed, causes the receiver to read "ru."

The included manual is worthless. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

When I say the dish is not set up, I mean it is not positioned, etc. It is hooked up to the receiver though.

they are normally set at 1080i from factory set your tv to 1080i

If your TV doesn't support 1080i 60Hz, try setting the box to 1080i 50Hz.

OK. The TV resolution can still be changed from the remote, using the "V format" button.

If you press this button twice (leaving about 1 second between each press) it will change the format to the next on the list (my S9 has 8 different formats). Wait about 5 - 6 seconds for the format to change. If you still cannot see anything on your TV, then again press the "V format" button twice. Wait 5 - 6 seconds. Keep trying this until, hopefully, one of the formats is compatible with your TV.

Yeah. My 5 year old TV works on all the resolutions that the Skybox puts out. It would help if we knew what TV fta4usa has.

Yep. Good idea. Most people have more that 1 TV in the house.
