I have had to uninstall a windows update, but each time i uninstall it and then turn my pc on it keeps auto reinstall the update. After uninstallnig it asks you to restart and then its find update is gone. But once pc is turned off and then switched back on again it auto configures and re installs the missing update. Is there any way i can stop this happening.
Reason being is an update in conflicting with a programme and i have bene todl to uninstall the update for it to work= which it does until the update reinstalls iteself.
To further address this issue, please do the following:

In Windows, go to Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Installed Updates, and under Microsoft Windows, remove the update "KB2846071".

Yes you can do that Linny.

Go to your update settings and set it to notify you of new updates but not to install them.

Let Windows notify you of update "KB2846071" You can then click on that update and tell it not to notify you again by Ticking\unticing the box beside that particular update.

ok told it to notify me of all updates, but is there anywhere i can list it NOt to install that particular update?

Notify but not install, right?

You need to remove that update if it's already installed

Check for updates

Then view updates to install (You haven't said which OS but it will be like a blue hyperlink I think)

It's at that point when you click on the particular update in question you'll have the option to "Ignore" it

yes sorry notify and let me choose what to install sorry windows 7 uninstalled it and not all will then reboot & check again

hey linny, you can right click on the update and select hide the update. never see it again lol.
