Hirens has lots of different tools including the hard drive manufacturers ones so that might be a good start use the tool to go with the brand drive you have.
This is why I recommend this to a lot of people it has everything that is needed.
pardon me if im wrong but if you already havent tried this,boot the install dvd or usb.when you get to the install screen there is an option to delete all partitions and format the disk.do this and see if the install will proceed.all formatting and disk deletion is best done thru the install options.if this doesnt work you either have a corrupt install media or a fried hdd.
Ok so ive inherited a Toshiba satellite laptop but it's a piece of junk as its so slow. The hdd looks similar to the one in my t410 that ive been trying to fix. If the new hdd fits will it read ok?
