I know I probably sound like a simpleton.. and i probably am. I am a newbie and haven't got a Scooby-Doo what I'm doing half the time with this box, so here goes...

In order to update to the latest version of this Skin, do i do a software update via the box or do I FTP the file included at the start of this thread over to my box and delete the old file?

Sorry in advance for the stupid question! :anyonethere:
 
i just ftp the file, then go through the install process as detailed n the guide. it isn't difficult - in fact even I can do it !
 
i installed Kiddac skin but zgemma stuk on gui restart . i start pressing button at back still same skin .as to start new skin u need to gui start . any help
 
Thanks for the hard work that you put into making the skin. I have read a lot of post and would gladly want you not to be put off by the comments of one or two members. Majority of the members appreciate you and the team. Please can you tell me how to access the history menu.

Not had any reports other than this one regarding a boot loop. Access my skin folder via ftp. Usr/share/enigma2/ and delete my slyk-1-hd folder. Should boot up then. There are clear instructions on page 1 how to install. If anyone else is struggling with the latest please let me know. Version. Box. Image also helps.
 
Kiddac, when are you advertising for a Personal Assistant? Lol

Your dedication to this project is astounding. I'd have given up long ago. That beer fund needs setting up fast.
 
I must admit it's becoming a bit of a chore now. The desire is dwindling. I have been at it 2 months solid (not helped by last weeks software bugs - that totally ruined my rhythm). I now use my box and think it's perfectly useable despite plenty of screens still need skinning for completeness. I think it's why most people have lost interest in this thread now. Their newly skinned box looks good for the features they use and they don't really care about what's left. Although I am purposely delaying doing some screens just to make sure the yo old faithful keep checking back to see if I have done them ;) But I will keep slugging it out and positive comments always help in pushing me along. Weekend is nearly here so I can spend some time on the remaining. And please don't PM asking how to do personal amends...(I get a lot) I will probably just ignore you anyway due to how busy I am.

Mate, dont give up on this!! Your work is greatly appreciated by a lot of us and you have done and are doing a fantastic job with this skin! Visually, I think the only thing that needs a little work is the playback section which is still showing the default skin, other than that it looks awesome!!! Keep it up pal, dont let a few stumbling blocks get in your way to perfection!!!

Hi, I would like to add to all of the positive comments so far and say thank you Kiddac for all the hard work and effort you have put into making this skin, it looks amazing. I am having a slight issue with the epg however, as you can see in the screenshots some of the titles don't end before the next block and seem to overlap causing the next title to distort. In the first screenshot the film on Sky Family is split into two boxes and when the middle block is selected it distorts the block before and after. I'm hoping it's just a matter of changing a setting and if it is, maybe someone could possibly direct me to which setting it is. Many thanks, again Kiddac, keep up the good work.

The epg font colour thing is a general bug in enigma2 and happens on all skins for the epg that have a contrasting selection. In the skin design there is no option to colour the before or after selection, you can only control the normal colour and the selected colour. So as I say I have no control over this, its just a general bug. It normally happens when the previous or next block is tiny. i.e it just has the ( i ) icon. I have not seen it happen on such large before and after blocks though. I will have at look at mine tonight and see if I am getting the same.
 
Thank you Kiddac. If you look at the 1st screenshot on Sky Premier, the title stops short of the end of the 1st block whereas on Sky Premier + the title doesn't end short but seems to overrun into the next block and distorts it. That seems to be where the problem lies i thnik. I'm not sure if that helps or not but thx again.
 
Despite saying I'm not using your wonderful looking Slyk skin, Kiddac, as i've fiddled with MetrixHD to get it exactly as I want, I am very curious now to see Slyk in the flesh. I've bought a black 2S for my FiL and it arrived today, so I'll set it up tonight and pop Slyk on it. I'll tell the FiL he owes you a beer too.

I know whos here. :) it tells me at the bottom of the thread. All it needs is to click the thanks button on opening post or on anything else and it makes me feel my effort is appreciated. Which i know it is. Its the quite ones. Get involved. I am a grump now and again, but I dont bite unless you ask about epg tabs.
 
Sorry potential noob stupid question here but can i stick this skin on my xpeed lx2? i had a faulty zgemma so upgraded to the xpeed.
