Should we have a name and shame thread for bad server suppliers??

Looking at some of these post I didn't do to bad then, paid for 12 months got 6. Yes you would pay a lot more for Sky there is no doubting that, but the Sky box and service beats hands down any other box you can buy imo.

Plus there are plenty of GOOD deals to be made with sky when you go through retentions, but obviously no where near what you pay for a server. All swings and roundabouts.

my current guy hasn't responded to me in the last 3 days of my line not working (showing offline/login) and also the forum member who recommended him to me has also not responded despite been online.

So let me get this straite, your committing copywrite theft and fraud amongst other offences yet you want to name and shame others who are cashing in on your own greed and stupidity ?.
Seriously if you had more than two brain cells in your head you may actually realize that the only safe way to card share and note I said card share not steal as your currently doing, but the only way to safely card share is to take out a legitimate subscription and share it amongst a few close friends / family. Otherwise your just a dimwitted, greedy little sod and I have no sympathy for you what so ever.

Read what was written, talking about safe card sharing that isn't going to go down after 24 hours. Its not mega difficult and if several of you are willing to pitch in a split a subscription then you know its likely to be reliable but not as cheap as buying a gift

Watch out on wednesday as sly are announcing a few changes to their setup,could be curtains all round and no more card sharing,god help us all

My guess its a new set top box that offers ultra 4k and with a completely new interface that current boxes have.They will probably offer it for a free upgrade to all customers and then when they have enough customers on the new box then Sky will move all its channels to DVB S2 transponders....which will mean the end of cardsharing in its current format as everything will be in HD.

Lets hope I am wrong...

Possibly, but the simple answer to that is what happens if you don't want one? This issue has been going on for years, the bottom line is people don't want to change! So those old boxes will still be in use and the service will continue to be provided for the boxes. As big as sly are they cannot force people to alter their contracts or upgrade, that is completely down to the individual.

That is my thinking as well. There are plenty of people on non-HD virgin cable boxes and they have a smaller user base and virgin supplied STB. People don't like change, don't like new contracts. Plus it would cost sky to much to have all those engineers out there.

I don't think they would hesitate in sending all engineers to swap these boxes no matter what the cost, but they've been plugging folk for years. Take this hd box and well give you 1/2 price everything for the year.
No matter what they say those boxes will still be used for a long time, therefore imho the service will continue for a few years yet.
The issue is as folk have seen over the last 3-5 days, the secret is no longer a secret and its being flaunted far too much now

That has been true for lots of formats, napster, torrents, usenet, cable boxes, etc Once they blatantly start appearing on fleabay and it becomes too easy to use them then companies start to take notice.

From what I've seen over the last week these folk can be very damaging, again its only IMHO.

They sell without giving the necessary support and information, the fact that they are selling them in the first place amazes me, how can they get away with it?

Then its left to us to put people rite and explain, in the mean time unhappy customers who have lost there channels moan like mad with no awareness / not a care in the world about the do's and donts that have gone some way to protect us up until now.

Again I agree completely! I think we all know which sites we are talking about here, but for people to name servers etc is just not on. Not only have they been banned for that very reason, they don't have the savvy to keep their info to themselves when they get ie dns.
Just a bit too open tbh, but then that's why they've come to the site. They need the info and service and lots can supply

In practice I think you'll find its more trouble then it's worth!

I can see lots of issues and problems that will come from this and its not exactly hard for a scammer to setup a new user account / website / email address.

Will not work IMHO.

Some kind of system should be put in place as members don't deserve to treated so terribly.
If we can't name and shame we should have a mod that we can report a scammed to so there ip can be banned from the site as I'm sure we can all agree TK doesn't need bad members giving the site a bad name

Easy to change your IP address.

It can also give people false hope...

"oh this guy must be ok as he's not on the techkings ban/scammer list" ...yet he was last week just under a different name.

True but if TK make it harder work for member to scam others they may think twice about coming here to begin with. It will never stop it happening but prevention is better than cure...
