Guide How to set up an E2 combo box with vix image

Hi Guys, I finally took the plunge and bought Miraclebox mini with open vix, and I'm having problems already. Ok so I power up box, when I'm setting up hdmi, 1080p, 60hz settings, the screen was going blank in between. Then I got to the wizard. I'm using cable so not sure which tuner to use, it was by default set as DVB-T. I'm sure it should be -C.
I did network check no probs, then somehow I came out of the wizard. But the setup menu screen is wide and I cannot see edge writing. I tried to change width, etc. I can change transparency, but I don't see the width changing when using left right button, I don't see a point that I should be using to adjust. If I factory reset this box will I lose openvix image or anything else. In case I want to start again. Any help appreciated. I have Panasonic 47 inch tv.

You dont loose anything by doing factory reset. I had to do it a few times when I was setting up. Follow bees guide the problems you are having should be sorted in the early section ...

Use the left and right buttons on the box's remote to change the tuner type. On my tv I had to change the screen settings on the TV itself, using the TV remote. It was set to 16:9 - had to change to Screen Fit, which disables overscan.

Ive followed the set up guide and despite it being 'easy' i think ivd gone wrong somewhere. If i do a factory reset will it remove openvix that came installed on it?
 
Hi Guys, Thanks Henchcock for the advice about the tv overscan settings. That did the trick.
Ok so I've got as far as the Autobouquet Maker section. Beefore that picked up the tuner set up Net ID, QAM settings all on, put in 6952 in the second line from bottom. Done Autobouquet, scan some 380 video and radio. Scan stops and I'm stuck in this menu, exit out and I only see open vix screen. Goto some settings that shows bouquet enable this, start seeing epg populating and can watch channel 1,2 maybe more. However I'm not sure about my NetID stuff. I never entered any frequency and its not mentioned n the Tutorial. From my VM box my ID is 41069 (lewisham) that is also what I used in Kryptview box, but I use ex C&W provider, not NTL nor VM. Anyone know the symbol rates etc that I should be using? Also what supposed to happen after autobouqet scans? I don't see the list in the tutorials, the one that shows the channel list straight after.
 
Ive got everything set up at last...ive completed all the steps and everything shows as it should. Ive got all the free and paid for channels but i cant actually watch any paid for ones. I only have tuner a on sat set up. I have an n line and ive put it in the list file and uploaded it with firezilla. There were 4 files in softcam manager but i can only start up the 2 mg files. Wen i click the ccam files it says no config files found please set up ccam first. Not sure what to do from here
Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

Just want to say thanks to the forum, especially bees. My kryptview packed in so I used the advice/tutorial on this thread, got a new box and sub and have not looked back. Anyone still using or expecting to use Kryptview really should update there box. You won't be disappointed

You need to transfere two files to user\keys your newcamd.list file and the mg_cam file.

Then activate the cam in softcam manager.

You don't need the CCcam file if you are running an N Line, it's really only used for C Lines these days, that's why I didn't bother putting it in the guide.

Just go to the "providers" parts of the menu and set the provider to VM, then set the area to match 41069 (lewisham),

No need to worry about Ex C&W or NTL settings with these.

Just match the provider setting to the setting in the tuner configuration.
 
Hi Bees's thanks for your help, Is there any reason why I'm not seeing other channels that are part of my subscription to VM e.g. I get channels upto 5 and bbc news and sky sports news, but not any others. I read somewhere I need to get a line, but as an FTA box I should get the bbc and itv channels etc or is this similar to the KV box where similarly I would only get the basic but not the +1 channels etc. right?
Also after the bouquet setp where it scans the channels, does it automatically got to the tv channels, or do you have to exit out of it. I exited out of it. I'm also unable to download any pluggins. How do I test the network, apart from the test that is available in the setup part.
 
Hi i did all that. I enabled and started th mgcamd in softcam. In newcam list i put my line in twice as example had it twice. Do i need to do this or will it not matter? How does the box take the newcam list? Do i need to do anything with that? In the list i put csw (or whatever it said then my line. On the sky channels it is just blank. It doesnt say scrambled or anything like my starview did. Not sure if this matter. It does show the epg though. It says tuner a but when i scanned for channels sky was 0 then all channels scanned under vm. Again not sure any of that matters just wanted to give as much info as pos. Thanks for all replies so far. Much appreciated.
 
Guy's, any idea's why my picture keeps freezing on a miraclebox mini+ hybrid, it sticks then comes back a while later, only started happening this evening??
 
I have a irritating problem. I've gone as far as setting the box up, all free channels working. Whats bothering me is the aspect ratio part. In A/V settings I've got 4:3 set to pillar, 16:9 set to letterbox. With my tv set to 16:9 also, I find the epg fits fine, but the picture has the left/ right edge narrow. I can set it to Just on my panasonic tv, which align the picture ok, but that also stretches the epg so that I can't see the channel names. What on earth does the user interface adjustment do? Surely there must be a setting that only allows me to fit the picture and not the epg too. I played around with the A/V settings where you can change aspect ratio to pan and scan, or scale, but I don't see any change. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
User interface adjusts the menu's to fit on to your TV.

Try adjusting the picture to the right until you see a white band on the left hand
side of the screen. Then reduce the screen width.

Then move the screen down until you get the white band at the top, then reduce the height.

You should have a thin white band all around the darker box in the middle, all the menus, EPG etc should then
fit your TV screen.
 
When I go into user interface I see the white screen in preview box on right hand side. I'm using vix red skin. The only thing that changes is transparency. When I try to use right and left I don't see anything change. Which screen shoul I be watching? The white screen with the circles and percentages or the interface screen.? Any pictures would help or a previous thread. Hanks
