Cable Streaming From H1 box

Newbie
Does anyone know if it is possible to stream from a H1 box?

I have a H1 box and would like to stream from it over my Local network. ie - watch the channels from my laptop upstairs.

I had a look at the web gui of the box and there is mentioning of streaming but doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone know how to do it?

thanks

Google how to do it to kodi. I would help but I'm not 100% how to do it. Although I have done it and it works well

nah you dont even need kodi for this...
download vlc player on your laptop.

make sure the openwebif plugin is installed on the zgemma.
once it is installed go onto your web browser on your laptop.
type the ip address of the zgemma in. (find this : menu > information > network > zgemma ip address)

find this screen on the openweb interface for the zgemma:
webif2.jpg
then you find the channel you want to stream, hoover over the icons to the right of the channel you want to stream and download the m3u file which you can then open with vlc player and stream to your laptop like that, no problems and its smooth :)

Can you view any channel or is it just the same channel that the Zgemma is viewing on tv?

Depends, if you have 2 feeds set up (sat and cable) then you can watch sat or cable on your pc whist watching the feed your not watching on the zgemma.if you only have 1 feed you can only watch one channel

I did try that before but vlc wasnt able to do anything with the m3u file.

The only think I am not sure about is if the openwebif is installed on the zgemma

thanks for help. will try again and will let you know how I get on.

Yeah it does load the stream. Reason it didnt work before was VLC wasnt grabbing the msu file.

thanks

It will work as described but will show a blank screen as you only have one tuner, follow the instructions as above but on the top left of the screen you will see the details of the channel being watched, beside this is a stream icon, try this one.....or on the left side of openwebif screen there is a box that says zap before stream, tick this and try as it will then turn the box over to the channel you want to stream.
Also can be best to set VLC as default for these files on your computer.
