Does anyone run kodi on a fire TV box (not stick)if so, does it run smooth fast and responsive?

Does it crash alot and do amazon do updates that stop you from sideloading apps?

My brother runs Kodi along with IPTV on his Firebox both run really well, never heard him mention having any issues with Amazon updates etc.

Yeah apparently, the updates have the potential to stop third party apps working.

Do you know if Amazon prime works through a vpn that I have on my router pointing at Holland?

With being able to load Mobdro on a Firestick without any problem I cant see there being any issues loading onto a Firebox

I seem to be charging my mind about what box will do the job, started out on Android then raspberry pi running libreelec then odroid c2 but just not happy with the odroid seems slow even tho specs are better than pi

I'm sure some other members will give you some good advice on what to choose who are already using some of the items that your pondering over.
 
I run kodi on my first gen firestick, runs smooth enough, but at the moment certain addons are up and then down which is a pain. Terrariumtv app with mx player is brilliant, choose Google video links as they run very smooth, for live tv mobdro or UKtvnow apps. The newer firestick is very good. If you download apps2fire from the play store, just install the apps on your phone and from there to the firestick dead handy

Kodi or the firestick? Kodi can be a pain some times, but I don't that on all devices I use it on. The firestick can act up the odd time but just unplug it. Just keep in top of maintaining it, clear the cache, run clean master. Excellent value for the price. I have no complaints

Well thank you for the detailed response I think I might give it a go. If I get one, what are the best apps to load on, I don't mean kodi or the other apk, I mean the apps that help you get things done like esExplorer, maintenance apps etc?

As I said stick apps2fire on your Android phone from the play store and use that to side load app, and clean master from the amazon app store. I literally have only got kodi terrariumtv, mobdro, UKtvnow, es file explorer and clean master on it. The firestick runs best when you don't over load it.
