IPTV Pic quality problem

I find that my IPTV supplier seams to work fine on my H2s. The problem I have is when I am watching sports on the HD side and the picture goes jagged, say like round the player jerseys or when the camera pans too fast. Slow moving pics are fine.
Using wooshbuild latest and fast internet connection. HD movies are fine etc... just live sport.

I thought it maybe the H2s that's not fast enough to keep up with the live stream so thinking about a Duo2 box but would like to give it one last shunt before I replace it.

If anybody has any ideas it would be appreciated

I wouldn't say that it's the box, as I run IPTV on my H2s and I dont have that problem. I know that doesn't help to solve your issue, have you tried another provider just to rule out the streams as the problem?

Thanks Guys for replies.....

Connection is Infinity 2 (74mbps) and it's hard wired straight into the router....

I am on my third provider and all have been the same with regards to the fast paced live TV streaming. Just done a fresh reflash with wooshbuild and nothing else on there and still the same problem with distorted picture. It's actually unwatchable but like I say streaming other stuff such as movies is perfectly fine. It also doesn't matter if I am watching HD, FHD or SD. The result is the same... Strange..

Makes me wonder is it some setting on your TV.

Was thinking exactly the same... Some tvs handle sports and fast paced action better than others...

There's usually a "sports mode" on most TVs. Can you try changing to this mode and see if it still does it?

Mine does the same, more or less same config. I found swapping from HD to FHD stream worked... not a clue why. Assume prob at server end.

Is it not something to do with the hertz setting on the tv? Sure it should be set to 50hz not 60 as some modern teles are. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will enlighten us.

for uk streams the setting is meant to be 50hz, for us/can its meant to be 60hz,or so ive been told.

Thanks for all your help guys....

I have a Samsung 3D LED TV.... it usually showed the sport perfectly when it was through the satellite but of course that's not an option anymore. I will have a look at the hertz setting and see what it says. It has a sports function but that just alters the picture to a horrible setting called 'football mode' which alters the picture colour and contrast etc which looks awful tbh...

You should be able to change the contrast/brightness etc in sports mode, and everytime you go to sports mode, it keeps that setting... Well, on all tv's I've tried it on at least, but there is a possibility that samsung messed up :p

Hope this helps you all depending on your tv make etc turn off Auto Motion Plus (Samsung), Motionflow (Sony), and TruMotion (LG). ...also NR noise reduction off and turn down the sharpness not above 70.

You will get more responses by starting your own thread but 33 meg is enough for iptv. You need to look at more things like wired/wireless, provider, isp blockers etc etc......start a new thread though and post details of your setup!

Some tvs are set to multi hrtz try changing it or it could be the stream it's self have you tried any other channel to see if it's the same i have a seiki tv in bedroom and that runs at 60hrtz and when kids watching something on it the picture looks a bit blurry at times

To get rid of the motion blur on sports you really need to find a provider that is broadcasting the channels at 60fps your suppliers channels are probably 24fps I used to get that problem with the F1 and footy till I changed providers but as mentioned above playing with your tv settings does help a bit but will not cure the problem completely

I find that running on native settings works best for me, so it plays 25hz video in 25hz and 50hz in 50hz etc. Only problem was that my TV doesn't support some of the modes (think 720 30hz) so it would also go off, I just changed that so it ran that video in 60hz and it looks fine now.
