Does anyone know if the Smart IPTV app available on the new Samsung Smart TV's can be used to stream movies or tv on demand?

My Zgemma died this year and i've had to make do with FreeSat for last 6 months.

I've just bought a new 4K tv and discovered the app in the app store.

Yes Smart iptv app is ok with Samsung and LG smart tv's, it's free for a week and then costs about five Euro

Just a tip with this app make sure you test your tv with the test channels siptv give you. If you cannot play the various examples as was the case with one of my Samsung TV (5 yrs old) its probable it is not able to play certain codecs this will effect your ability to play some VOD + iptv.

I have a 6 month old Sammy and no they cannot play the VOD movies etc , standard IPTV live is ok. On a side note is their a VPN option for the TV's

I'm in the same boat. VOD plays terribly on the Samsung tv i have, not overly fussed about it though as i only really use it for sports (even then i still get BT sports through CS). No VPN app on the tv, you'll need to get a VPN router or install a VPN on an existing router.

Yes that's the conclusion i had come up with just thought i would ask incase i missed something. Router VPN or individual box/stick install wondering what slows down the most

Hi to all, i'm having a samsung tv delivered this thursday, reading about vpn for these , is there a guide on how to put vpn in to my ee brightbox router or would it be better to buy a vpn router, thanks.

Depends if you want to provide VPN to entire houehold? My view is just supply the hardware that needs it as the slow down over general use on everything in the house will do your nut in, i have 4 boys smashing the downloads everyday so wouldnt work for me.

I have the Siptv app and the best I can say about it is its worth the 5 euros or whatever it is. Mine plays iptv and vod however it has bugs such as the loading sign staying after the film has started on vod, not all the time but enough to annoy you. Sports where fast action is involved i.e. football and tennis there is a blurring of the ball. I know it is the app as on the same tv I have also tried a magbox and an android box and they dont produce the bluring or smear effect. So in conclusion I am getting another android box. As I mentioned in an earlier post many older Samsungs have problems playing the latest codecs, I experienced this on one such tv and it would not play certain streams both vod and iptv.

Were abouts do i get the codes for my lg smart tv for channels can you help me with this thanks

as far as I am aware you cannot update the ones installed in the tv but by using an android box or mag you bypass the tv software used by siptv app. When I complained to Siptv re app not functioning correctly on the older tv I referred to they did not offer a remedy but said they would refund my 5 euros hence I believe another device is the answer that will play latest codecs.
