Bloke crashed his drone and sold all accessories on eBay...I had new listings turned on for DJI...

I offered him a good price for accessories. He declined. I put in 1 bid and won ( haha) .. the postage was cheap. So I offered to pay extra in case of damage in transit ..
Again he declined. So if damaged in post where do I stand ? He will probably send items in a plastic bag knowing my luck..

Items damaged in post, raise a claim with EBay, seller gets certain length of time to reply etc. It can drag on for a couple of weeks due to EBay timescales but ultimately you will win. EBay always sides with the buyer no matter what the seller claims.

Even if he claims he didn't damage them etc, you will still win and get a full refund. I had it happen to me once. Seller disputed everything, I still got a full refund.

Problem is, people do scams with this, I had it the other way round as well. Buyer claimed it was damaged and I was forced to refund it. PayPal deducted the money automatically, I managed to get the item back, not broken, but I had to pay the return postage, so I still ended up out of pocket.

Buyer just decided they didn't like the item and claimed it was broke.

EBay is shocking!

Appreciate the info.. cheers. Clears that up.. I offered the guy a great price for accessories batterys £70 each he had 3.. I put one bid in and walked away.
He got greedy and lost, ending an auction at 1.30pm haha ..
Cheers mate for info

I am still naieve @dt99 I thought I was clued up tbh. Especially on eBay. But
He could well damage the items before sending on. I may open the items in front of postman..

Yeah, some right dodgy ones on EBay. The buyer is always right with EBay so you will never be out of pocket, it just takes a while.

Fingers crossed it's straight forward for you and he does the decent thing for you.

I messaged him 1st though asking to sell direct to myself he gets away with eBay extortionate fees. he gave me a silly price so I said I would bid ..
He is £200 min. out of pocket . Why do i use eBay ffs... he wasn't happy regards myself winning.
Thanks pal..

£200 out of pocket!! You may find he just doesn't even post the item. You just have to play the game with EBay, sometimes you get a real bargain. Makes me laugh when people won't accept offers but start it off on a really low bid and then get annoyed when it sells low.

I offered the seller £250 . He wanted £300.
The items split up are worth about £500.
remote controls are worth £200
I would be suprised if he actually sent the items.. but I am an optimist. Never again on eBay...to stressful

Looks promising.

Good luck mate because you have about as much luck as i do shopping on ebay. I will keep my fingers crossed for ya and await the next ebay rant lol :grimacing::grin:

@rs500nutter
If the buyer had taken my offer he would of been slightly better off. I would never decieve no one. I even sent a link to completed items,
I think the accessories will be posted out. In what condition.who knows.
Fingers crossed. Cheers mate.

He might of declined your offer away from ebay because he would not be covered as a seller incase anything went tits up,most people will take your offer as long as you pick it up and pay cash.

Update
Good news i think seller of drone accessories sent.. I asked could the seller send the items 1st class. Registered and I will forward the excess postage
he replied . I ha've sent your items via parcel force.. you owe me an extra £9.40 on top of the postage I already paid. Some people are so greedy oh finally the tracking no does not correspond to one on given. I would like to rant. But I give up..

Not really related to your drone stuff @stuss but if I am ever selling/buying anything on eBay etc I always try and use ups if you have one of their parcel shops or access points as they call them in your area you can get next delivery fully traceable for £6.
 just for future reference :xd: :dying: :dead:

I have sent stussy t shirts all over the world for under a tenner. My rant this evening is simple I hate greedy sellers on eBay. Thank you for your advice on posting out..never thought of ups.

Do not pay the extra postage until the parcel is delivered. If you are happy then pay him if you wish He can't demand extra postage outside what his original postage charge was

DPD parcels do £5.99 for up to 20kg dropped off at their shop too for the UK.
Can't believe the extortionate excess fees he has asked for.. I will wait until items are delivered . Check the price on label. Then send postage costs.
For a reasonably clever bloke I am thick ... lesson learned and thank you all for advice given.
