Plugin for keeping a record of what you watch.

Wouldn't it be great to have a record of what you watched and when?

EPGs and videofile names could also be included if possible.

I have a chinese clone vu+ that's about 5 years old.

Can you explain how I would go about doing this? I don't mind a small investment in time and would be very grateful.

Anyone have a clue of the right direction for me to go in?

Bit more info would help. You can use the clone vu but just get a really big hard drive say a 1TB and you can just store everything on there.

Are you having a laugh? Just record everything for the next ten years? One hour takes up about 1 gigabyte of recording time (compression doesn't seem to be so good), within 1,000 hours it would be completely used up.

To be honest you are asking a silly question as who wants to know what they watched more than a couple of months before

As mentioned... just add HDD.
I have not mounted my HDD yet but have small USB drive mounted.
I get full EPG and what i record it also shows when it was recorded and what it is.
Can also record one channel and watch another. As you say about recording 1000 hours and not enough.... get bigger HDD.
For smaller HDD just FTP to HDD and save it on laptop.

All above works fine for me.
Although i dont record much.

1000 hrs and still not enough for some i ask you as that is nearly 6 weeks tv watching 24 hrs a day

I think you misread the OP, then gave a half answer, then got annoyed when he asked for details.

He wants to know if there is a way of storing details of what you have watched and when - basically a diary of your TV viewing habits. I know I would have no need or want for this, nor do I think it can be done.

Everybody wants a plugin for this and that and will eventually make box run slow, avoid buying clones as unknown support or bricking of boxes very much will happen.
Some boxes can take internal hdd or externally powered usb hdd.Drives usually need to be setup for ext 3 - ext 4 for recordings.Hdd can be upto maybe 6tb as my biggest is 2tb.My recordings on my et10000 show green - unviewed, yellow watched or fell asleep again, full / 3/4/ 1/2 or 1/4 yellow is the time viewed.
Clone boxes should still have the basic setting for setting up recordings and no plugins needed.recordings.jpg

I think you missed the point too - it has nothing to do with recordings, or clones, or HDD, it is a diary of what TV he is watching.

Nearly impossible for a diary of what is been watched, different tvs and/or boxes and if you fall asleep have you watched it.Not mentioning plex netflix and other things.
That is only 1 of my diaries as what i am looking at for so many years.:sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep:
