Wireless Connection No Longer Functioning

dont ask me what ive done but i have managed to muck up the internet settings now its only my pc that can connect. Any other wireless item cant.

Earlier i was in the Belkin homepage and looking up the ip and mac addresses for all our wireless items, plus the modem was playing up - router blinked orange to say it could not connect.
However my pc is ok and ive got icons saying my pc network then internet - gateway seems to have disapeared - woudl that be my problem
you know me i touch it and break it!

I have checked that my belkin home page has all the correct setting ( well i think they are correct) when i click on the DHCP client list only mine now shows up as any other internet connections fail?
so guys can you help me solve my problem - again lol!

well i somehow have managed to sort it lol! again dont ask me how coz i just played until it worked. I disconnectd both router and modem, connected modem direct to pc to check that was all ok - it was.
then went back to router and took off security - after a while it worked, so once it was all working and wireless items got a connection i put security back on and reset the router.
So it was either all or one of those things that got it working.

but hey you know me got no patience when it comes to this sort of thing and tend play for a while then ask Q's, then go away and chill out come back and start afresh lol!

i think i now need a drnik lol as its taken all afternoon to get this sorted :)

sounds to me like you turn off the broadcast in the settings just a guess have done this myself a few times by acc good that you are back up and running

probably lol! yes good that the kids are back up and running lol they couldnt use msn FB or phones/touches/consoles ..................... shame :) when you got a houseful of teenagers with not internet access - they dont know what to do lol!
thing is when your really not sure what your doing its so easy to click the wrong thing and muck it all up !

it is mine kids are all on the wireless as well but luckily i have a separate router for my network so i dont usually cut them off when im playing

oh rite! so you have a 2 routers then? ( oh god why did i ask coz now im gonna get confuzzled lol)

iv 3 routers to split into 3 separate networks one for my work one for h2o work and one for the kids

I couldnt imagine my life without all this technology about.

My head hurts lol!

ive had no connection this afternoon tried everything, got to the stage where i had no alternative but to contact the service provider ( grrr) made an appt for monday ( to give me time to rearrange things) then decided to "play" with all thier connections - lol! have no idea what happend but seem to be back up n running.
It kept telling me there was a dns ip config problem and service providered told me i needed an engineer to come look at cable. But after fiddling and disconnection the feed from its service provider box and re attaching all seems well.
so fingers crossed.

ME is just not having much luck with computers and internet.
God the thought of no internet all weekend and teenagers crying coz no xbox lol!

linny you have a belkin router they do go off on a regular basis and i find if you plug it out leave it out for a few mins plug back in and leave for a min it fine for a few days

no apparently it was the modem - i connected the modem direct to pc and still had a problem. But i undid all the internal cables from the providered box fiddled with them and it seemed to change so maybe some how the cables had sort ov moved - and we know how one little movement can change the signal. it was a DNS error according to what pc said - so could even have been at nt l end!

Yes problem came back again - tried a few things and gave up - but this morning it seems fine.
Have added info to another thread re network problems.
Ive got a problem some where or its still the provider thats got probs - im not sure.

Update!!

OK still having problems.

I have changed the splitter to a more powerful one and things seemed ok for a day or so. I have even taken the splitter off and used the cable direct still with same sort of problems.

Now my router is flashing orange on the modem light, meaning the modem is not connection to the router correctly. Sometimes it says the connection between router and modem are broken. So i have unplugged it and gone back to just my modem connected to pc.
Now my settings say PC-----Gateway ------------ Internet with a green line inbetween meaning its all working.
now the strange thing is i can get on the internet via firefox which im using now, but if i try to use IE i get IE cannot display the webpage , diagnose connection problem. So i do a network Diagnostics test and it tells me problem found : your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (web proxy) is not responding ( then has the yellow triangle with ! in it)

Does anyone know if this is something i can sort or if i will have to contact my ISP to come round and take a look.

IM not sure if its coz my modem is more than 10 yrs old and maybe not completly compatible with windows 7 - but well we all know VM they wont change any equipment unless they feel its needed
