Currently got a mag 256 and been told they don't support a vpn, is there a better box for iptv that does support a vpn and won't get prone to blocks, where can I get a box that is preloaded with a sub.

Depends on budget mate but here's a few ideas 4k firestick zgemma i55 4k box formula boxes Android boxes Atleast 2-3 gig ram on android box but for price you pay for a box another alternative a vpn router just to run your box through or all devices quite a few members will say 4k firestick

Or spider VPN they will give you a free router.

Tbh I think both ends should be covered as Mike has stated most say to use a vpn for a peaceful weekend of sports it worth it

Hi, I have a skybox F5S which I stopped using a couple of years ago and went back to genuine sky!! Their prices have gone mad and I’m looking to either re use the skybox or get a totally new system so I have popped back in to tech kings for help and advice. I am anything but tech savvy (otherwise a tech idiot) and I need a setup that is easy to work and update. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what to buy and a great UK provider that will get me set up with all uk channels and maybe USA channels as well.
Any advice, help etc will be much appreciated, cheers.

Lol Prin@l, redheat had started the thread I needed so no point repeating, apologies redheat for highjacking your post!!
F5S was a great box and simple like myself lol and I have a great guy supplying me every year.
What are my option now and what sort of costs am I looking at?

I recommend the formuler boxes these are great mid range android boxes.

With iptv there is much more content available than the old card sharing days.

You do have to make sure you have a fast internet connection otherwise you will have problems preferably fibre

Most iptv providers are warning people may have to start using a VPN. It is for your security as much as the the supplier

As stated before, suppliers I know recommend not to use vpn (and some actually actively block vpn access), because of issues with people abusing and restreaming... And as said, a good supplier will be able to get around the blocks, so a vpn isn't of any need anyway...

Iv gone down both routes ,boxes and smart tv,I take a sub on my zgemma and he supplies me another smart TV sub to run on an LG smart tv, so really the smart TVs sub is the back up one , should I need it,so when the match freezes or what ever I immediately go to the smart TVs app,and it works 100% every time, not only that but through the IPTV lg app picture quality is far far better ,but I'm just used to the zgemma box layout and use it the most,BUT if you don't want the hastle of working with boxes etc and just want to turn on the tele and watch go for a smart tv ,just give your provider your MAC CODE from your tv,download , the IPTV app from the App Store and your all set up,just plug and play.Best tv to get is either LG or SAMSUNG, hope this helps ya.

What about the 'downtime' whilst the supplier is working on a fix?

Its of my opinion there is a slight contradiction in your message.

If there is a block a good supplier will be able to get around the blocks - assuming there is downtime whilst the supplier is fixing the issue, having a VPN in place will prevent the downtime in the fist instance.................so its always best to be prepared/have a backup.

Also, with all these changes in privacy laws, etc - prob another reason to use a VPN.

Having said all of that, I don't use a VPN myself lol!

In regards to downtime. Yes, there is a slight amount of downtime ... usually just a couple of minutes, at most... lol.

Also, if everyone just starts moving over to using VPNs, then it won't be long before they start saying they will be cracking down on VPNs, and start banning these during match time. As it's actually easier for them to get the IP address of the VPN servers... Then, it stops all the people who are using VPNs for legitimate reasons, such as hacking, or trying to bypass the pr0n (another reason why they will probably start to try blocking VPNs in future):LOL:

They will never say you cannot use a VPN during match time for the simple reason most businesses use them as part of there security.
