im normally quite careful with regards to my laptops and pcs and look after them quite well but somehow i had a lapse in judgment and downloaded a file i was linked to from this forum a while ago, cant mind what it was but its still haunting me.

ive ran virus and malware scans, system fix scans (avast premium) and its still coming up...bottom right corner it pops up a load of B***ocks with the website anonfile.com displayed

anyone any idea ow to get rid of this pest without reformatting the damn thing?

  1. In the top right corner, click on Chrome’s main menu button, represented by three vertical dots. When the drop-down menu appears, click on “Settings“.
  2. Chrome’s “Settings” menu should now be displayed, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Advanced“.
  3. In the Privacy and Security section, click on “Content settings“.
  4. Click on “Notifications“.
  5. Find the anonfile.com site and click the three vertical dots button next to it, then click on “Remove”.
Depending on your version of chrome just copy the chrome://settings/content/notifications and paste it into your URL address bar. described in point 3, Then find the offending notification and delete it or just reset permissions?
