3 reason to choose Sat over iptv

Triax motorised on chimney with quad
Old sky dish with octo awaiting the crack fix
And another bigger fixed dish with multiple lnbs.

I started with the standard sky dish and the rest was added too.
Yes, i think motorised setups are more for the enthusiast. Not an option anyone just looking for getting the 3pm's should consider. A big dish, motor, lnb, cable & stb cost a small fortune & unless you are a technophile & a competent diy guy, installation is pricey & installers are few & far between. I have a system since the old days of d2mac & have the same setup in france as i do in the uk. I think you will have a long wait for hd c/s on 28.2......i have read (info that could be wrong, so don't hold me to it) that the recent & short-lived return of c/s on 28.2 was facilitated by modifying softcam software to hack into viark servers to gain the decryption keys.....a loophole that has since been patched.

Loved the Dmac days punching keys in after phoning for the latest code :ROFLMAO: very archaic but exciting at the time.

Filmnet black box before that sky videocrypt voyger interface loads more hacks. Great days.

Yeah, filmnet & tv100 etc. had the videocrypt too with the cloned cards. Like you say, it was fairly exciting & very few people knew of it......i had a device too that sat in the card slot of your receiver & blocked the signal that deactivated your sky card when you cancelled your sub, lol. & a card that auto-updated the keys when they changed on d2mac channels. Used to get out on the roof & manually move my dish before i motorised it.

Of course Sat Tv beats IPTV, in all the points you mention & more. However, it is unfair to compare the two simply because few people choose iptv for the reasons people choose sat.......a large dish with a euro line does not come close to matching the content of iptv. IPTV hardware can be moved easily from location to location. A decent IPTV provider will have have good servers & not overburden them & offers worldwide tv packages giving multiple choices for accessing every football fixture, PPV sports such as boxing & UFC.....massive VOD libraries in top quality A/V. yes, the pic quality of live streams does not match live sat, but it comes pretty close......i watch on a 65" 4k tv & pic quality does vary, but on the whole, it is still impressive. The quality of IPTV has improved significantly since we lost c/s & it is getting better all the time.
Not easy to take a motorised dish with you on holiday :ROFLMAO:

VOD isn't as necessary with iptv imo.

You can have plex for vod, dedicated vod servers and free apks which you can link to RD or premiumize that get you premium links.

true mate had a plex server like but easier having vod on ur server side , tbf any 1 with vod is lucky as twats r reporting em as playing live more then ever now so need protecting same as live now

all about the $$$
Absolutely & that is what Sky fail to understand.......that they have always had the power to end piracy by simply charging a fair price for their subscription, getting rid of extortionate ppv & by screening all the football. Instead, they employ hundreds of specialised staff on high salaries & throw milions year in year out to counter the pirates with only limited & short term success.
