4k Firesticks, worth the extra££?

Hey guys, while we wait to see what happens with IPTV I thought I'd ask about devices.

Currently got 3 2nd gen firesticks in my house, everyone else I know also has 2nd gen. Just wanted to know from the guys that have upgraded to the new ones, is it worth the extra?

My remote is starting to show signs of failing, not going to pay the silly price for a new remote I'd rather just get a new 4k stick if it's worthwhile. I know I can use the remote app and I am doing but if I have an excuse to upgrade then why not.😆

So are they much better?
 
Just trying to start a discussion about it, nothing better to do at the moment. Missus is watching that dancing crap that's on once a year so I gotta find something to do!

Its a no brainer faster processor and it doesn't matter if you don't have 4k TV but will be handy when you do have!!

I'm in no rush, just thought I'd ask around while IPTV is down for most. I'll be looking at a new device soon though
 
Ive just 2 weeks ago upgraded and with IPTV it made a huge difference. Loads more responsive and no lag on remote control. I minimized the ammount of apps I put on and used only the essentials, but definitley worth the extra £s. If you wait till Black Friday they nearly always reduce them too.
 
Only problem with both the cube or soundbar is they're substantially more expensive than the 4k fire stick.

May as well get something like nvidia shield paying that much unless the cube or soundbar is more powerful than that.
 
...it's worth the upgrade, yes...as mentioned before, Amazon tend to do a fair few sales...got mine for £29.99...can't fault it! 👍
 
I have thr 4k 2nd gen box.. And also the 4k stick.. I prefer the stick.. It's quick.. The remote having IR is another plus!! Saves me finding telly remote.. The daughter has the old 2nd gen stick.. Nothing compared to 4k stick... Only reason I keep 4k box is for ethernet...

... apparently you can get an ethernet adaptor for the 4k stick, food for thought!

Yeah bud I know this lol.. But it's otg usb with a usb to Ethernet.. So your bottleknecked by the usb speed... Which is shite compared to actual lan
