just purchased a780 recently, connected everything up switched on and all im getting is the channel listing then as that goes away the weak or no signal message comes across the screen. also the remote does not work though it is sending out a signal. just wondering if this could be a flashing issue.

check your coaxial cables and connections,any splitters or extensions?and are you paying a sub to vm also? as that may have a bearing on your signal.
have you got the new s/w update on box yet?

I have the new s/w update and I do have one splitter. I also pay sub for internet to vm. When I am trying a Auto instalation it has a choice of networks. 1. NTL 2.Ex-C&W 3.CHORUS 4. TELEWEST. It has no listing for virging media? Any way I've searched using each and all these networks together the channnel listing still displays but 'no or weak signal' message appears and on some of the channels display 'srambled or no video' message. When scanning the signal displays between 60-80 strength. I bought this a780 already flashed and 'working' aparently. Am i missing somthing here or is it simply that my nincoming signal is just no good?

chorus was for irl lol,i would factory reset and auto scan,ntl from the main feed with lan removed and only plugged in when all channels are loaded,powering off box at rear and modem and router for 30 secs then on will allow an ip address to be connected.
signal level and quality should be 80%
 
hi.
manage to get channels install channels now. problem i have now is when the display on front of a780 goes to sleep (dims slightly) can wake it up and remote doesnt work. i have to tap the box to effectively 'wake it up' (display on box changes to full brightness) then the remote works. Any ideas out there?
