A780 S/W update stuck

Hi,

i'm trying to basically update the box and its just saying searching for new update?? its been like that for a while now.

update what?if you checked downloads you will see current image,is it the same?

no on the box the date is 2013, so will i have to connect it to the computer with the cable?

yes might be cut off at other end if not updating as a few updates missed,null modem reflash needed then.

Hi Guys my kv box is also down, my old sony xp lappy has also crashed, only have a mac now most of my mates on windows are now on win 10 any ideas on how I can reflash and uograde???

keep looking as not sure if w 10 will work as these old boxes were made for xp with serial port.one of the reasons all new boxes [ no not kv lol ] use usb flashing.

If your friends have a updated KV a S/W update can be done, Menu - Installation - Data Download - S/W Transfer.

You can either buy a usb adapter or you can buy a pci card and install it to the computer

Thanks Cactikid tried with daughter's laptop with win7 but it only has usb ports couldn't get it to recognize the usb-null modem set up. Looks like I might have to dig around in charity shops for an old xp computer/laptop. Hey that's progress I guess!!!
