Hi all its been a while since i posted a new thread.

I have noticed various threads on a few different forums over the last couple of weeks/months about these amazon devices being blocked .

My own personal wish is that they block every single third party app going and you guys finally wake up and get a genuine android Tv stick.

You have the second best helper in FEZ ( Moderator ) for support and he will put you straight on the right road.

Then the forum team to advise.

Please feel free to give input Mosh

IF CONTINUING TO USE FIRE TV DEVICES IMPEMEN THESE SETTINGS

AMAZON FIRE STICKS/CUBES

Disable everything and it will stop them monitoring what you are using.

1) Go into settings - Appstore

2) Automatic Updates - Select (OFF)

3) In-App Purchases - Select (OFF)

4) Notifications - Select (OFF)

To disable Amazon monitoring

GO INTO SETTINGS

1) Preferences

2) Privacy Settings

3) Device Usage Data (OFF)

4) Manage sharing from apps (OFF)

5) Collect App Usage Data (OFF)

6) Interest-Based Ads (OFF)

Disable Featured Content

1) Settings

2) Select Preferences

3) Featured Content

4) Turn off both Allow Video Autoplay and Allow Audio Autoplay

Ive said this elsewhere on here but.

What i advice take it or leave it.

Is a good spec none certified Chinese android box.

Most have malware on them so purchase one you can install a clean scene rom on. Slimbox roms as an example. SO a AMlogic device.

Don't sign in to any google accounts although as its not certified they carnt push updates to it but all the same don't.

Install a VPN and sideload all the apps you need.

Don't install downloader either as a lot or those quick and easy codes installing apps are infected with malicious files.

Boxes Below can run Slimbox roms

Aliexpress links as most of these types of boxes will be.

TANIX TX5 very reputable brand wont have Malware and can be run without a Slingbox rom.

I listed at least 3 in a previous thread. There are no end of devices that will do the job. But I would go with any certified device or formuler box or even buzz box.

Or if you really want to be ultra safe consider a enigma box

I wouldn't waste your time atm, wait and see how it pans out.
When they roll it out in Germany and France you will get an idea of what apps are being removed, wether its aio apps or players as well.
Worst scenario you will be without a device for a day or so max.

I expect there will be a lot of sellers worried now about their customer base with so many only owning fire tv devices.

Might be an idea to list specific recommended sticks with links to buy in this thread, and we'll add them to the first post.
I'll dig some out over the Weekend mate and list them.

One perfect example in my signature is the Eachlink X3 Mini no longer available sadly but has been sweet as on a Slingbox Rom.

You would go to a certified box that Google has control over ? Why ?

Formular and Buzz yeah there not certified but not exactly at firestick prices are they ?

Any Chinese android devices I have tried are none too user friendly to be honest. The mob are fickle, it would need to be as simple to operate as the firestick to get people to buy one.
Formuler boxes are fairly expensive starting around £100 stg.
Could be much ado about nothing. The mag boxes were supposed to blacklist Urls years ago and had us all installing "no block" software. Turned out you didn't need to at all.
Wait it out for now is probably the best advice.

I don't think google will go down this route personally. The difference is with Amazon

1. They were very popular
2. Very easy to identify and give bad press

With google devices they don't have the same problems unless you list every device either certified or not.

The bottom line it was giving Amazon bad press

Minix and Ugoos are uncertified devices and none of their devices have malware on them.
I use the playstore and the apps without issue and have Google Play Protect disabled.
I would never use a certified devices because I have no need for official streaming apps and they will tend to be lower spec hardware anyway and not have features I need.

Google have stated that they will not block side loading in developer options so you will still be able to sideload using ADB commands so Google certified devices shouldn’t be an issue and you will just have to use ADB commands to sideload apps that the developer doesn’t have a developer license.

As for Amazon devices it looks like they will eventually stop selling android devices and they will be replaced with VegaOS devices, so you will eventually move on anyway as they become obsolete.
Unless someone finds an exploit and app developers start making apps for them which I am doubtful tbh.

Also no one knows what apps will be deemed piracy apps by ACE and app developers can alter the metadata slightly anyway and ACE would need to keep up with the changes and keep adding these altered apps.
The cat and mouse scenario.

I only use a VPN when I have blocks from my ISP but that never happens now.
I am not advising you to do the same though, just my personal preference.

Couple of links added, my kind of budget box affordable and can run a Slimbox rom.

I'll add more at the weekend.

Plus even official apps most of the time need yo be side loaded onto fire sticks.

Plus google make money out of apps like tivimate as they are in play store among others.

Not sure if Amazon sticks have official IPTV apps in there store.

The popular ones like Tivimate, iMPlayer and Sparkle need to be side loaded and obviously players provided by sellers that don’t give out dns details.

That's what I mean I think at least 50% of IPTV users have official tivimate

If you say 20% have google devices and download from play store. Google are taking a cut. Where Amazon are getting nothing. That's why I don't think google will stop. Bit could be wrong

Even if Google did remove Tivimate you would still be able to sideload it on a certified google device using ADB commands.
I think if they did remove it they would remove every other player also but it’s doubtful they would remove them because they are just players and can be used with legitimate services and FTA services.

I've removed the apps to block updates and just going to wait and see what transpires. If Amazon does start blocking then there will surely be workarounds as there always is. So like others have said, don't stress about it guys and just wait and see!

App developers will just change the metadata and repackage it.
ACE will be busy trying to keep up.
It’s just if users are happy to keep installing new versions.
As mentioned best policy wait and see.

I've read thru and not seen any recommendations for reasonably priced Android boxes from China. I've ordered a couple to try so I'll see how they go. Got a cheap one on at present that works great on Ethernet but the Wifi is shit.
