ABOUT TIME ( DITCH THOSE FIRE STICKS )

It’s looking like only new firesticks when they move from android to their own operating system.

I like my Nvidia Shield although sometimes it seems to glitch a bit.

As for VPN usage. I find certain uk ISPs you need one but others seem to be ok.

Think the firestick have a few years left yet

Wow. I thought they were only putting it on new ones. Have to look at alternatives for some of my other TVs.

I set up a Thomson 140 stick (android) today to trial before I take it to my Son who's away at Uni.

It cost £34.99 from Amazon and it's a no brainer if you help anyone out with iptv who doesn't live near you.

Pros:

Easy setup - prompts you to scan a QR code and can all be done (typing etc) on your phone.

Has Play Store where you can install downloader and put your iptv app on easily.

Tivimate runs perfectly on it.

Backlit remote control.

Cons:

Remote occasionally lags and needs two presses.

You have to sideload some of the UK streaming apps (iplayer, itv player etc) but if you have a FS you can still use that for legit apps.

I don't think you can connect that stick to your ethernet via an adapter is that correct please?

You can install the Slimbox rom on each of these sticks
Xiaomi Mi TV stick 4K
Transpeed M98 Stick (2G16G/4G64G) with or without voice remote

They all have the same CPU and GPU as the Thomson, If the Thomson has the same WiFi chip, and the bootloader can be unlocked then you should be able to install it on that too, if needed.

- Again, I'm not recommending any of those sellers, they were just the first search results that came up.
