Added new external hard drive, keep getting error message

Keep getting this error message, cant unmount or format to ext2 or ext3??

If you're using the new hard drive for timeshift it needs to be in Ext4 format.

Do I need to make a partition or format all hdd in ext4?

HDD was formatted to fat32 before connecting like what it says in woosh guide!

1tb HDD is used for everythink not just timeshift

Thanks, so all I need to do is format hdd to ext4 and use sd card in ext4 format for epg/swap? sd card helps hdd being used all the time?

yes mate, I tend to use the microsd for swap, timeshift (depending upon how big the sd is) and epg and the hdd for recordings. The swap and timeshift need a Linux file system.
