Any sparks in the house?

So last year a had a problem with my Hisense induction hob. I nearly bought a new hob but it seemed to rectify itself God knows how but that's my question.
When I turned it on the wall socket I could put a pan on and it would let you turn up the hob to 9 then it would freeze/lock at 9.

All the buttons would not respond to pressing the only way out was turning it off at the wall.
This might happen for a good while and no matter how many times I turned it off at the wall it would do the same.

Then Tuesday it did it again, I mentioned it to a friend and he said "Turn it off" I said I've tried that he said "No no turn it off at the consumer unit and leave it for 10-15 minutes so I did and since then it's worked perfect.

The oven and the hob run off a 45a connection plate checked installed by a spark few years ago. The oven is actually a 13amp oven and the diversity is fine for both.

The spark said, the only advise is, don't have all four hobs on 9 and the oven it's never a good idea and tbh we never do but my question is,
Why is the hob doing this freezing thing? and why does flicking it off at the consumer unit work ?.
Is it anything to do with the 45a connection plate or cable ?. I'm just trying to get to the root cause of the problem

A lad I know said do this

"Hello pal, flip the glass off and clean the underside of the glass were the touch control board sits for the buttons. Also degrease the metal contact buttons and just ever so slight extend them there light a consetina you'll see but only 1mm - 2mm. If you have an oven below you can get a steam and junk build up that effects the control touch board/glass/ your finger contact".

So this morning I took it apart and the underside of the glass was abit greasy but the metal touch buttons were worse. I cotton budded some isopronol onto both and it's working fine,
For how long I don't know but now I think of it, if there's muck or grease between your finger and the top of the glass you would clean it but you can't get access to the board and underside of the glass.

This might be why it randomly worked then stopped. I just thought I'd mention it as it must be a common thing with all makes and even ceramic touch hobs.

Saying that, I'll probably be back in a few days saying, anyone know of any deals on hobs

You can see the grease so I'm hoping a glass and button clean sorts it
