Stick it on USBLet's say, for example, I had a list of films and Series/episodes of my own that I wanted to make them into an m3u file and use Tivimate to view them - its just an example ...
anyone know how Tivimate distinguishes between Movies and Show/Series in the m3u list?
Thanks
Cheers.Stick it on USB
Playlists->Choose Add Playlist.->Select M3U playlist. Then navigate to it and choose a name.
Somat like that from memory.
It doesn't seem to matter how many live TV or movies, could be 100s, 1 or none, always the same result. How many movies and TV shows we talking about. For your project something like kodi is better don't know why you would want to use tivimate.
I am taking it you have some movies and TV shows stored on a PC or NAS and trying to create a M3U
I have a list from a friend in the east, it's not local. As mentioned I would use Kodi for locally media. Tivimate isn’t great with m3u for VOD.
Yes . My software will allow me to "import" into my database only the categories I want (the sub provides a huge list, most of which I'm not interested in); once imported to my database I can then edit, merge rename, reorder etc any categories and or channels within the database. So a m3u file is just a link to were media is stored.
Tivimate is a player that can play the media.
You need to create in the m3 u file
Name of of show and all the episodes within that
Yes it can be done but it is long winded and would need a fairly large post
Yeah, I've kinda created my own IPTV Editor but you've given me an idea.Yes that's because that all gets done on another piece of software. You might be able to do it in something like IPTV editor
Create e.g the TV show then add the episode links within that TV show.
I have used iptv editor for curating public services from online marketplaces.Yeah, I've kinda created my own IPTV Editor but you've given me an idea.
Putting aside misgivings about exposing credentials to IPTV Editor or whoever, if I can get them to output an m3u which displays TV, Movies and Shows correctly in Tivimate then I'll be able to compare their output with mine.
Cheers
THIS^^ kodi is great for vod , but it really struggles with iptv lists.I have used iptv editor for curating public services from online marketplaces.
I have had no issues with it tbh.
EPGgenius curators use it and I have not seen them mention issues using it either.
Kodi is great for VOD but not live TV with EPG’s.
iMPlayer and Sparkle handle m3u VOD better than Tivimate.
If you want to check and compare text format in your list with one that has tv series that tivimate recognised , you could buy a cheap Chinese sub . Get a month sub for literally a couple of quid and a sample of series part in a text editor ?Yeah, I've kinda created my own IPTV Editor but you've given me an idea.

Yeah, I'm not casting nasturtiums on IPTV Editor or anyone else but these things are always "safe and secure" until one day, maybe they aren't - all part of the landscape I suppose. Maybe I'm being overly concerned but I'll keep going with my little project and see if I can figure it out. Cheers.I have used iptv editor for curating public services from online marketplaces.

Thats almost exactly what I'm doing. If you want to check and compare text format in your list with one that has tv series that tivimate recognised , you could buy a cheap Chinese sub . Get a month sub for literally a couple of quid and a sample of series part in a text editor ?
