I’ve not had much luck with any apps for the stock LG or Samsung TV interfaces, they don’t tend to have the best processors or RAM either so even if there was a great app, performance wouldn’t be the greatest.
I’ve experienced this with my Android TV, where yeah I can access Tivimate etc, but the performance still lags a bit compared to using a Chromecast 4K. Varies country to country but where I am Chromecasts go on sale a bit or are easy to find second hand so serve as a good option, but there’s obviously higher end options like the NVIDIA Shield available. If you’re used to a stock TV interface though, a Chromecast should be a substantial upgrade.
There’s also a lot of cheapie Android TV sticks out there but again, a lot have crappy processsors.
