I am just wondering what people are doing this year with regards to Black Friday and Christmas spending this year. I hear a lot of people are worried about what the budget in uk next week will bring, i also hear a lot of people are not busy at work but its industry dependent. So with this in mind are you cutting back on your spending this year or are you not worried and will just spend the same as other years or even more?

What will be interesting to see is if people are cutting back this year due to economy being in a bad way. What i am trying to work out is will we spend our way to a better economy or will people hold back.
Spoke to an engineer friend yesterday who is in the similar industry to me, he says house building is on its knees with many sites shutting down no one buying. but we are extremely busy at work. The chinese have also made big in roads into our industry. Seems to be the same in the car industry, ford and jaguar dealers shut down near me and mg and omada/jacoo have moved in.

Never really been impressed with Black Friday deals. Though I do keep an eye on price tracking and charts websites for items I really need. Amazon devices generally get a good discount but how many does one need. Oh and sites like hotukdeals and deal aggregators to see if any major price drops.

Not sure if it works across the pond but thanksgiving is one of the best time for cancelling subscriptions, always some good offers to not cancel + Black Friday pricing.
