Buy a Viark or go in the loft and find my old E2? I'm all in on the Apple TV 4K nowadays however, with the World Cup coming I do not want to hear my neighbours cheering or crying before I do the same thing 60 seconds later (IPTV Latency) Having just seen some VU+ related streaming apps on the Apple TV App Store It's got me thinking perhaps there's a world where I can utilise sat and IPTV all via my Apple TV. World Cup (FTA aside) What's the sly uk listings available at the moment seen references to a fair few channels if you can get a sub but no mention of sport. Be interesting to see if anyone's got a screenshot of their 28.2 EPG / Channel list.

Probably outside the scope of this thread, might be best starting a new thread in the General Satellite forum.

But just a quick answer to a couple of your questions, for 28.2e only a Viark is not worth it at the moment. With a decent CCCAM line on an E2 box you can open some SD channels (gold, discovery), but no Sky branded channels, and definitely no HD Movies/Sport.

With an E2 box set up for FTA channels, you can grab the bouquet M3U from Openwebif and add it to your IPTV app (I do this with Tivimate on a firestick), but there's still a 5-10 second delay.

If you start a dedicated thread in the General forum, I would be happy to share my set up and screenshots, but to be honest, if your worry is the World Cup on BBC / ITV and delay, I would just plug an antenna or dish into your TV and watch on Freeview / Freesat. Why make if more complicated than it needs to be!

Some people still have sky sports sd shares if you can find a server with it on for E2, sky branded channels are available such as sky showcase, max and atlantic with the correct set up and server. The VU+ streaming app for android would not find by gigablue so you may need a vu+ for it to work. You can also use the webif from your E2 box to stream to appletv as i have been able to do this with a nvidia shield.

Not often I would recommend IPTV over satellite but if you are going to watch sky SD, get IPTV its far superior.

A family member recently brought a decent mid range Samsung 55 inch TV, his Virgin Package has TNT Sports in HD, but Sky Sports in SD, I knew it would be bad when I set the TV up for him but IMO it was shocking. Luckily for him before christmas they dropped HD being an extra charge so he now has it, but just to emphasise your point, SD is appalling!

Not worth the extra outlay if it's just for terrestrial FTA channels , BBC itv , just stick to your IPTV.....or your old E2 reciever Will do for Freesat ..
