hi guys

i have got my box setup and running and managed to tune in sat channels. all is ok with that.

i am now attempting to tune in using my cable turner and connect to them channels.

i am having no luck at all though.

can anyone explain to me how i set it up and find the channels please. i am in birmingham west midlands if that info is needed.

the box came with image and that already setup on it. but i believe its the enigma 2 with vix. does that sound about right? or do you know how i can check.
 
I meant like a pre-made backup all done for you pretty much like a Sucmnsee, Wooshbuild, Dsayers & Biohead etc...
 
someone else has told me i have to have a backup image for it to work but i dont understand why that is and if so where i get it from.
 
No no, I used to have that box but sold it on. You can do it all yourself. Bees guide helps a lot. Post on here or Bees guide where you get stuck.
 
Just in case it needs reflashing at anytime your have it set up and line saved. No mather of starting from scratch
 
Do your plugins work? If not it will need updated. If you're on 4.1.X it will be a flash/couch flash with no restore so start from scratch but if on 4.2.X you can software update. As Nicky says, always have backup of your lines on email/desktop...
 
No my plugins dont work. when i hot the green button to install new plugins i get a message to say there has been an error. i have just backed up the lines i use to clear my channels with that what you mean thanks for reminding me,
so how do i update i have no idea if im on 4.1.x as box came flashed.
 
That's just after Hades, very old now. Although the fwis fine probably and probably not even as buggy as the latest, VIX annonningly stopped the plugins feeds. PM me your email I will email you the links to where to find the latest fw and guide. Then come back to Bees guide...
 
thank you. box updated and now running through bees guide. i am tuning in my turner a (cable) where it asks user service scan type i have put that to provider and turned all the QAM to yes, i have put my net id as 41011 and both the scan additional SR to 6952.
i have then set provider to scan as vm uk (6952)

can you confirm i am correct in what i have done?
