Fabio Capello has named the team to start England's crunch clash against Slovenia.
He made three changes to the team that could only muster a disappointing draw against Algeria last Friday.
Capello previously stated Matthew Upson would replace the suspended Jamie Carragher in central defence, and Aaron Lennon makes way for midfielder James Milner.
And up front, Jermain Defoe, who was brought on in England's last match, will partner Wayne Rooney instead of Emile Heskey.
Defoe has started just one competitive game for Capello - and lasted only one half of that, against Andorra in September 2008.
However, with 11 international goals to his name - and three in qualifying - Defoe is a more obvious threat to Slovenia than Heskey.
In theory, his extra pace could provide Rooney with more space to lift the gloom from his dreadful contribution so far.
The team is: David James, Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson, John Terry, Matthew Upson, James Milner, Gareth Barry, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, and Jermain Defoe.
