been trying to sort this out for a while now & have found the solution eventually, thought i would post a "how to" as someone else might find it useful ;)

minimising xbmc

open xbmc
go in to system
go to the bottom of the menu & click system again
select video output
display mode
change the settings from full screen #1 to windowed
go back & save resolution
now go back to home screen you will now see a toolbar at the top on xbmc, this means that xbmc can now be minimised on your desktop

casting

you need google chrome installed with the google cast app ( free to d/l)
next open chrome
then open xbmc & minimise
in the top right corer you will see the cast button on your chrome browser
click on that
then click on the arrow on the right
in the drop down menu click cast entire screen experimental
then click on your chromecast ( mine is front room for example)
then answer yes to the pop up box that asks share screen with audio output etc
now maximise your xbmc, choose what you want to view & job done, anything you watch on xbmc can now be viewed on your tv

Nice one , my son has chromecast i will forward him this , if you had sussed ut two days earlier it would have saved him £40 for that plex sub :bye:
FTM.

So , thinking aboutvthis . You would watch this way ,
if you had no free hdmi ports on your tv
no hdmi cable , xbmc is on your PC and not laptop or phone ?
cannot see a situation where you would need to do it this way much mate ?

i don't have a android box mate, i have kodi on the pc upstairs, chromecast on the tv downstairs , rather view it on a 47" screen than a 24" just had a look on that rtg forum you mentioned ( didn't sign up, just wondered what people thought of our chances today ) & seen you posted this

Yep You and i will have spoiled someones afternoon if they've upgraded their view to watch this shit :beg:
