Confused: Little help and guidance

Hi,

I'm new to TechKings, I could do with a bit of help...

I have VM brdbnd 100mbs - only. I have no sat. I don't wish to have one up.
I am thinking about the Blade 8000 + the usual 12 months etc. Will this work, if using a splitter and some extra cable to reconnect back to router and to the box (without the requirement of sat)??

Thinking of Blade 8000, unless you can recommend differently? After sprts HD? mvie HD?

Where can I obtain 12months from?
Once connected... if I obtain the box, where do I go to pay for sub?
Main answer I am looking for is sat or no sat required?
Thanks in advance.

Would that mean the channels stated above would come through? bt sp 1 & 2, sky sp 1,2,3, etc all in HD? essentially all channels? lol
Also if I put in a request, I'm presuming I only require the box for now? and then to await for instructions from the request for the paid server?

thanks again!

dont have cable so no idea whats in hd,might be a minimum rental of 1 yr:fear: lol, depends if server does month or whatever.you will be get pms so make sure message box is not full, few lazy gits not checked theirs lol

Ahh! thanks! I have had a couple of pms. I currently don't have a box. was thinking of getting the blade 8000 because of recording. been recommended
Amiko or q5. what's everyones thoughts? Do they have recording facilities?

Blade 8000 reported to have EPG issues on the cable side at the mo.

So that will cause problems recording.

Sounds like they are still developing the firmware,
you may be better off looking at a combo box with vix image from world of sat.

The XPEED is a similar price

Thanks for the advice. Does anyone know where I can grab a box from in Notts? With the cable and splitter?
Thanks

world of sat seem to be the most recognised / trusted suppliers
for combo boxes running vix.

Cable and splitter can be bought as a kit on Ebay

Have a look here

and here

The combo boxes running vix a must have feature?

I understand that you've said there is problems with the EPG... is this just for recording? will it still work without the recording as it stands?
Thanks

The cable that is split... one goes back to the router, one goes into .... ANT IN or LNB Input?

Followed the guide and it had f-type to coax. But now I'm not so sure?

"Autobouquets" is a big plus, the box automatically updates channel lists for any channel which moves frequency then updates the 7 day EPG
while the box is on standby every night.

If you haven't got an EPG you will need to set timer recording like the old video method.
Set channel, set date, set start time, set duration.

Setting the timer for recording from an EPG should just be a press of a button on the remote.

Have you already got the BM8000 ?

Cable is split, one to router, one to antenna in.

You can see it's an ordinary ariel connection, not like the LNB input.

So you need one of these screwed into the end of one of the patch leads from the splitter.

If you are running sat too, then the coax from your dish goes into LNB in.

yeah! had a crap couple of days! so decided to treat myself! lol so impatient! It's all connected. I have no intention of getting a sat. got pm some code :/ to add for a test... not sure how to do this though?

All you normally do is update the firmware using the patched version from the download section.

press 9991 on your remote the enter your line details.

I got asked if I had a channel list. I wasn't too sure. So I checked the firmware which said 27th jan 2015. 9991 is available. I'm scanning for channels using the settings told (powerscan, 6.887, etc) I'm currently at 23% but quality still says 0% is this normal?

All I have done is main cable - split to back to rout and now to box.

No ethernet connection. anything else I can do or should do?
