ITV will announce revised episode dates and times in due course.

Tonight's 'Coronation Street' has been replaced by a repeat of 'Harry Hill's TV Burp' in the schedules in the wake of the Cumbrian shootings in the UK yesterday.

The soap was this week due to feature a siege involving guns, resulting in two characters losing their lives after Tony Gordon, played by Gray O'Brien, escapes from jail.

An ITV spokesperson said today: "Following the tragic events in Cumbria yesterday, both Wednesday's and Thursday's planned 'Coronation Street' episodes have been postponed."

The spokesperson said the network would announce revised episode dates and times in due course.
