Dedicated iptv box?

At the moment I'm using stbemu on a firestick but I'm considering investing in a dedicated iptv box.

A mag would probably be pointless for me as stbemu does the job just fine. I'm thinking more along the lines of my previous CS setup on my zgemma star 2s with sly style epg. It's more about appearance than anything else.

Are any of these boxes good enough for iptv? Do any of them combine freesat tuner with iptv to save switching between two different sources?

Or should I just stick with what I have??

Cheers guys.

I have a few boxes including mag 254 Nvidia Shield and zgemma H2s. They all have there plus and minus points. The zgemma layout is very close to sly and i've got freesat and iptv on it. The iptv plugin works really well with full set of bouquet and an epg for uk channels. You can also record on it and also have vod with films and tv series. If you want to watch one channel and record another you'll need a multiroom sub. The iptv plugin is not the one on the zgemma but one that is supplied with my sub supplier

I thought about the h2s but I don't want to buy something too old and they have been around for a few years. I did that with the star 2s and whilst it served the purpose I soon realised it was an old box and quite slow compared to newer offerings such as the h2s at the time.

The mag layout is decent but it's annoying having to go through each individual channel to see what is on rather than go page by page with a full epg on show.

How is your h2s performing these days?

My zgemma in fairness is coping well with it. I have the ipab image on it and it runs very sweet. I get hardly no buffering at all on it. I know it's been around for some time but personally mine still performs well. Like you said 1 box for freesat and iptv.

Yes i think about £65. Set up a few for family and friends who were using cs so already had the box. Very simple to use. My mother who's 79 uses it just like her old sly box

I know other people have said that but i find the h2s is more than sufficient. I hardly notice a great difference between the shield and it. The only difference is obviously the shield has more options which is reflected in the price.

There is only about £10 difference in the price of these 2.

What does the h5.2s offer for the extra? Is it just faster?

Not that much difference really and as said above the H2s runs iptv very well. The H5.2s has the h.265 codec will might give it a better future proofing ie a newer UHD video codec but probably not that important until technology moves on.It's all down to budget really, there are much better boxes around but for the money Zgemma are pretty good.

Do you have a smart TV ? If so, try Smart IPTV app.. You can see whats on every channel without having to highlight it.
I know what you mean about SmartSTB having to select the channel to see whats on.

I do have a smart tv but for some reason it won't let me test smart iptv app before buying. Says trial expired or something even though I've never used it!!

I don't intend buying something I can't try first.

Just to see if it suits my needs and reliability.

If it's no better than stbemu then it's a waste of time and money.

STBEMU is basically the same as SMARTSTB, I tried both of them and disliked both, hence why I don't use a Mag box or any anything like STBEMU.

SMART IPTV is a different app, but again I don't like it, but it's all personal preference.

I use my supplier own app or Perfect Player, but you can't run these on a Smart TV.

Simplicity of 322 is good. Basic but my mum is in her 70's . Loves the layout.
Her h.2s was great for c/share. But struggled with iptv..

I always buy the formuler z7+ from world of satellite, better than a mag as it is android based so you can install apps from google store, also terrarium tv , morpheus tv etc etc , also a vpn if you need one.

Myiptv app on zz+ is very good Although it runs Android at The click of a button not the fastest of apps to load
My Mrs is happy with z7+ which is a bonus..
