Digibit VPN

I have installed this on wooshbuild 7 is their anyway of finding out if it works other when the EPL block kicks in I've asked digibit and they say everything is good their end unfortunately it wasn't for me on Sunday

Switch off the VPN plugin then connect to the box using putty (telnet mode)

Then run
wget -qO http://ipecho.net/plain;echo

It will show your IP address. Then switch on your VPN again, wait around 60 seconds then run the above command again. IP address should have changed, if it has VPN is working fine

Install E2speedtest from plugin menu , it'll show you who your connected to and also let you know if your connection is fast enough

Does your IP change when you connect within the plugin (shows at the top) I always use France 1 or 2 and it clears fine. I did mistype my password initially and was stuck for ages haha, check your capitals!

Think it says 85.10.95.252 just googled it and it’s a virgin up address

Did you run E2 speedtest with the VPN enabled? That will show the IP address you are connecting from.

The ip on my digibit is different from my normal IP address

Hmm doesn’t look it. Are you with virgin media for broadband?

That’s not right then mate. It is identifying your real IP address. When the digibit VPN is running and you run Speedtest, it will show a different IP and provider.

I haven’t used the digibit plugin myself so not sure If it outputs a log file but if it does You need to check the log file to see what is listed

Connect to the box using FileZilla and see if there is a log file in etc\openvpn

On openvpn it says the vpn is running

That just means the plugin is running. Need to check the log to check it’s status

Not sure what file structure digibit uses But Is there a .conf or .ovpn file in there?

Found it what do I do now

Open it with notepad ++ and the add the following line on a new line at the bottom

Log /etc/openvpn/digibitlog.log

Save it then ftp it back to the box and overwrite the old file. Stop the Openvpn plugin then start it again. This should create the log file (you need to refresh the directory if you’re using FileZilla)
