DIY Multiroom

Hi. I am looking to install a new F5 in my spare room. Am I right in thinking that all I need to do is run coax cable/s(with F-connectors) from my LNB into the room? Do I need to run 2 coax cables in? as my downstairs f5 has 2 coax's plugged into the back? or can I just run 1?

You need one cable to the LNB in, you can take the cable out of the loop connection.

You may also need a pair of homeplugs to carry the internet feed to your bedroom,
I wouldn't bother using WiFi dongles.

If you find a server who advertises multiroom you can run both boxes
off one line.

I had multiroom installed last week I have a motorised dish 80cm with quad lnb 1 coax cable to the front room and another cable run to spare room single feed yes you can

Thanks for the info guys..... Not too sure why I put both coax cables into the skybox. I cant call myself an expert so I just chucked em both in.

1 is a loop and one is from the lnb, to do muti room u need the right number of outputs from the lnb.

ie, 4 . 2 for f5s and maybe a double feed for a vu,

do it with 2 cables or 1 shotgun cable because at a later date you may want a twin tuner, always think ahead and do the job once not twice.
