As I posted yesterday I updated the OpenATV image on my SF4008 and its basically killed my box ! , I've retrieved my backup from the HD (using FTP) , put it on a USB key (i.e stadard sf4008 folder) and tried to do a fresh image install ... nothing .. tried pressing the blue button to press restore but it says "backup not found" so my night of searching has led me to this German page. I've tried running it through Google translate but I think there must be some German slang init or technical info perhaps because the English translation makes no sense

Anyone point me in right direction please ?

Die Sf4008 verwendet ein Mini System um die Box mit einen USB Stick zu Flaschen.

Bei einer Störung oder Verlust des Update System im Flash, man bemerkt es nur wenn man per USB ein neues Image Installieren möchte,
das die Installation nicht möglich ist.

Im normalen Betrieb oder wenn man nur per Online-Flash die Box Updatet wird man es nicht bemerken.

Hier eine Anleitung wie man das Mini Update System Repariert.

Es ist nicht Notwendig ein Update zu machen solange ihr keine Probleme habt
der Inhalt im Zip File ist identisch mit dem Update System in eurer Box.

HowTo:

1) Holt euch ein aktuelles openATV Image vom Download Server : Hier Klicken
2) Entpackt das Zip File auf einen USB Stick.
3) Ladet euch das Recovery Zip File und Entpackt den Inhalt auf den USB Stick : sf4008_recovery_1.0.zip

auf dem USB Stick sollte es nun so aussehen:

4) Gerät ausschalten (stromlos) am Netzschalter.
5) USB-Stick in den USB-Port front einstecken.
6) Gerät am Netzschalter einschalten.
7) Front Power Taste drücken.
8) Das Image wird jetzt geschrieben, dauert ca. 2-3 Minuten.
9) Nach Abschluss des Flashvorgangs erfolgt ein Reboot.

The Sf4008 uses a mini system around the box with a USB stick to bottles.

The content in the zip file is identical to the update system in your box.

How To:

1) Get a current openATV image from the download server: Click here
2) Unzip the Zip file to a USB stick.
3) Download the recovery zip file and unzip the contents to the USB stick: sf4008_recovery_1.0.zip

On the USB stick should now look like this:

4) Switch off the device (without power) at the mains switch.
5) Insert the USB stick into the USB port on the front.
6) Switch the appliance on at the mains switch.
7) Press the front power button.
8) The image is now written, takes about 2-3 minutes.
9) After the flash process is completed, a reboot is performed.
