4k firestick will solve the problem cheaply. Load your IPTV on it then add VPN.
I have one using Nord VPN works flawlessly.
I think the firestick is on offer at the moment

I'd be slow to go away from the Mag I think. It's been bulletproof to date and I've encouraged friends buy them too. I think I'll buy that mini VPN router and try a VPN on that.

Any idea on how much my internet speeds might reduce? I get about 75mbps currently

I have one of these, I think it may be an older model though,
It can only support up to about 12 or 14meg speed, which for me is fine for travelling and using only one device through it.

Yes, mine can transfer data fast, and read/write to the USB no probs,
I'd guess its the limited power of the HW that slows it when using a VPN, without VPN on its the same speed as whatever network I'm on.

Using any VPN will inevitably slow linespeed I'd have thought. If it takes say 25% that's fine. If it slows it slows data to a crawl though it's unusable.
