Hi Guys just purchased a second hand Droidbox T8S mainly for watching IPTV. The reason being is because I feel the Embedded app (Smart IPTV) on my HISENSE TV isn't good enough to watch IPTV. I've been told memory not to good on TV's. So hoping for better performance. Any you guys out there had any dealings with these boxes if so Review would be great. Cheers
 
Mines in the loft due to abysmal support from DroidBox. They abandoned updates within weeks of me forking out £114 for it.
It would be great if you know if there's any updated firmware for it.

I don't think so without updating the android version.
I bought it because it was dual boot android/openelec with support for an internal hdd.
I don't know if there's a generic firmware I can flash it with?
I'm not bothered about Android at all and would be happy to flash it with openelec with updated kodi.
 
I must admit I haven't tried. It went into the loft when I got my brand new shiny openbox and a whole new world opened up.
I will have to dig it out when I get a minute and have a faff.
