Hi,
Yeah thats pretty much what he said to me, I'm fortunate that I could get a static IP from VF, I do think their decision will come back to bite them, I understand he's trying to protect their wizard; but at what cost, I'd say there are more customers out there with dynamic addresses than not. We'll just have to watch this space!

One thing to bear in mind is that anyone using PayPal to purchase has 45 days from purchase to raise a complaint and claim a refund, especially as they think they will be getting life time support as claimed on the website, this of course only applies if they have a static IP Address, otherwise they will only get a couple of days support if their lucky.
 
I know it won't eliminate the problem forever but you can set up your own static ip. Google it it's not too hard. And it will hold your external ip for a good few months. So eventually you will have the same problem but I have had over 3 months out of an ip before. Just a thought

Just to add another note. If you purchased from Ebay as bbpete said above, and you paid by Paypal, you can raise a complaint through Paypal as you have 180 days to complain.
I think we should post this on as many forums as we can just to let Droidsticks know how we all feel about the situation.
I agree they have to protect their Wizard but a better way would be to use the mac address of the boxes.
I think the Wizard is terrific but please Droissticks find another solution to the problem.
 
Hi does anyone have the Droidstickpkg.zip to share from page 2 of this thread as i have been stuffed by droidsticks.co.uk, Obviously i and 99% of the rest of uk has dynamic ip address and my so called lifetime of updates lasted about 3 days when
due to a flaky internet connection i retried downloading updates over a 3 day period and my ip address changed so now i'm blocked from updates.
problem is they have already been paid the 40 quid so they clearly don't care if after that point you can't get updates.
Could not see anywhere on their site about needing static ip address only which is a poor excuse to cut customers off to say the least.
I have started a paypal dispute but it still leaves me with a useless android tv box, crying shame their custom setup with the links etc was looking so good but now pretty much useless.
Are there any other custom setups available on the internet, i tried tvmc but it only has very basic addons
 
Tvaddons is as good. Try it till you get a solution.All droidsticks do is compress all the free addons out there.
search and install the things you need. They are all free and not that difficult to find.

if you can't get droidsticks back try tv addons and xunity then you can download an already built "custom build " from programme addons it also gives you a chance to preview build before you download.
 
I've made a decent wizard you're welcome to have I have attached it to this post. I update it regularly it includes live tv list and the recent addons bbts and free streams by mikey1234image.jpgimage.jpg

Yes es lee the files are hosted on my server. I update the zip file regularly with new addons etc.

Yes es lee the files are hosted on my server. I update the zip file regularly with new addons etc.

My droidbox t8 is down can't play any links in xbmc . Get a " external player is active " . Press ok when playback ends . Message . I have been hanging on for droidbox to send me pusername and password details for their new wizard but as it get nearer the weekend am thinking of jut doing a complete wipe of XBMC and starting afresh. I have a paid add on i watch PL games on and don't want to miss em.
so can i uninstall xbmc and install yours or is your just an add on ?

also when i have tried uninstalling xbmc then installing droiidbox current wizard i notice my own add ons are still displayed ?
 
On the fence about buying one of the T8 boxes due to the new wizard needing a static IP, but luckily I can get one albeit at a charge of £5 per month.

you you could install my wizard yes mate then just add your premium addon.
 
You don't have to uninstall it
mate, if you're on an android device just go to settings, apps then xbmc and clear data
 
Coxie , how do i get that zip into my xbmc ?
tried loading techkings on the browser on my box but even though i am logged in the files don't show in your post.

Scrap that found it , for sime reason loading techkings on my browser on android box took me to some sub site called v bulletin , found a link to main site at bottom.
 
Hi coxie. Awesome wizard. Cheers. But free streams isn't in there. I know how to add it manually but wondered if it's gonna get added to the wizard at some point. Cheers again.
 
It's going to be added at the weekend mate. I've added it already just need to find time to upload the folders which will
probably be the weekend
